This weather!!!!!

**I can’t believe it is almost the end of April. Looking out the window I would guess January. We have blizzard conditions with close to two feet of snow already (with no sign of it stopping).

My poor trees:(. They were already leafing out. And the birds. There were a few very confused robins huddling in a tree this morning…

Anyone else still having winter???**
 
No, it’s going to be 80 today; the redbuds are out. My tulips are finally blooming (the deer have eaten them the last few years, so I finally got to see what color they are!).

Sorry, Malia, I just had to rub it in! 😃
 
It will be 80 here - the dogwoods are almost finished, trees are green, the grass is so bright it seems to glow. Irises are up in my yard. It is still cool and plesant in the evenings and the mosquitos are not in yet a plague.
 
Yep, I am in Calgary so I have the same weather as you and it SUCKS!!! Argh!!! When is spring going to be here? Can you imagine what it was like for people who had weddings this past weekend? eeek! :eek:

I sometimes wonder why I live in Canada… SOMETIMES…🤷
 
Here it seems to have skipped spring entirely and gone on to summer. It’s actually HOT :eek:

I wanted a few months of cool breezes before the scorching set in!

Well, I’m glad someone can sympathize:D… not that I didn’t enjoy all of the previous posts about wonderful weather:rolleyes:😛.

We had that weather 2 weeks ago. It took the foot of snow about 4 days to finally melt. Now I think we’re going to have spring, finally. I hope this is your last storm of the season and that you’ll be enjoying green grass, flowers and warm weather before you know it. 😃
 
Currently it feels like winter, to me at least. It’s 55, and I am freezing cold. The window in my office is right behind me and is really drafty.

Trade ya!;)😛 (with the windchill it is -4F here right now…about 12F without the wind)
 
We still have snow. 😦 My hometown got over a foot Saturday night, we got a few inches Saturday night, but man is it ever COLD.

It’s -1 C right now and I just want to not have to wear a coat everywhere I go. The only upside is that there has been a decrease of people coming up to me and saying “Jeez, Mylo, you’re REALLY gonna be sweating this summer, being pregnant and all”. 😛

I was just thinking about the heat myself this morning. I was taking the bus downtown to work and they sometimes crank the heat right up when it is cold out. I was overheated with my jacket and everything on! I nearly fainted… and felt icky. I can’t IMAGINE what it will be like in the summer!!!
 
My physician refers to Elise as my “personal heater”. I’ve been incredibly cold the last couple of months (she said it’s nothing to worry about) but come August I’ll be wishing for me to be freezing again. 😉
 
My sister said it snowed in Seattle Saturday. It was 80s on the east coast where I am.
Today is WINDY but I am not complaining. Snow in April, snow after Easter is just wrong!
 
Malia - we had a cold spell last week - with snow in the mountains and everything but nothing like your weather :eek:. This is why I like living where I do. It is going to be nice out today so I will probably leave the house without a sweater.

I am going to Ohio Wednesday through Tuesday so I checked out their weather and it is going to be warm when we get there but cold when we leave. It is also going to be humid - 50% which is a lot for me. When we get anything over 30% we all start complaining about the humidity :p.

This past weekend, we had snow, hail, sleet and thunderstorms. I had been planning on taking dd to the spring fair to see the animals, but decided that 40F in April was too cold. Sunday morning my mom called from southern Oregon, where they can go years without any snow at all, to share that it had snowed the night before, was sticking, and still falling. She’s worried about her little fuji apple trees because they were already blossoming.

But then a few weekends ago we had 70F and it was nice enough to hang my wash out on the line outside. Today we are up to 50 but come on…this global cooling is starting to worry me. Usually I can count on a trip down to my parent’s to get warm weather, but not anymore.

Here in the Maritimes, things have been pretty spring-like lately. Mornings hover around zero but by the time school gets out, my kids are lugging home their winter gear in the 10 degree “heat”. (I was raised with celcius and have a mental block about converting to farenheight!)

Is this weather typical for Alberta? I always considered Winnipeg to be the non-Artic capital of bad Candian weather, although Newfoundland runs out of places to put their snow some winters, don’t they?

Anyway, my condolences as a fellow Canadian, and may your long range forecast bring some snow-melting temps. At least you live in Alberta, land of milk and honey, oil rich, no provincial sales tax, abundant employment…on second thought, I take my condolences back. 😉

I use an online converter, lol. And I know what you mean by “heat”, lol. After a long winter 10C is t-shirt and shorts weather. Funny how the same temp in vancouver has people breaking out their winter coats;)

No, not typical. Our temp should be around 12C during the day by now. **

LOL, I wish we saw some benefits from living here…a break on gas prices at least:rolleyes:. As for employment, hubby is military so it doesn’t really affect us. But I do know we are fortunate in some ways.**

Yeesh, it’s April. We’ve had snow, hail, and freezing temps this weekend. Snow and rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Also add in hail, so much that it looked like it snowed. Two weeks before it was snow Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (the last ones of March). We’re not supposed to get snow past St. Patrick’s day. Well, we’ve never had snow past that date.

I live on the edge of the Costal Mountains west of Portland so when the snow level drops to 500 we get snow in Forest Grove. We’re supposed to just have rain and 60s. The whole maybe pushing 40s is pushing it. I don’t think we’re getting spring here. We might get summer. The weather has just been wacked for the last several months.
 
We’re normally about 9C this time of year, so we are right on the mark. We’re coastal, so for us, a bad spring day usually brings bone-chilling rain or fog. The only known remedy for this is a hot cup of tea and a cozy bathrobe. I don’t even pack up the contents of our mitten basket until late May most years.

Malia, I really do feel for you guys. Snow in April is NOT the fun kind of snow. Maybe the thing to do is take up skiing, then you’lI lament the end of the snow every year. 😃 I hope at least your daughter is still enjoying it. Did the school kids get a snow day?

BTW, my six year old daughter was oohing and aahing over your “silly Lily” earlier this evening. What a great picture! 🙂
 
Here in E. Washington we have been getting snow but its not sticking… thank God! But it is still not enjoyable at all. It should be in the upper 60’s right now…
