Those in purgatory not certain of Heaven?

It was passed on to me that during a meeting about purgatory the attendees where informed that those in purgatory are not assured evenutual entry into Heaven. From what I understand, it was explained that when time ends, those who are not properly prepared for Heaven are denied entry (those not “done” in purgatory revert to Hell). It shocked all that attended that meeting. I have searched, but cannot find anything on the internet about this.

Is there any merit to this understanding (does it support, contradict or neither support/contradict, Church teaching)? Have you heard of this concept before?

No, there is nothing in Catholic teaching or theology to support this. Those in Purgatory are in the process of entering heaven.

As the Catechism states (emphasis added):

1030 All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified,** are indeed assured of their eternal salvation**; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.
