“What is man’s life on earth but a testing? And who would have chosen it’s burdens and its hindrances…. When in affliction I want the life of ease, but while in ease I fear further affliction. Is there anything between the two states where life might no longer be a testing?..Without any remission, therefore, man’s life on this earth is a testing.”
-_St. Augustine of Hippo_, from "Confessions"

You can not have heaven on earth - then go to heaven when you die - A Kempis

Just do the right thing. Say the right thing. Think the right thing.
But no…ha ha…that’s too easy, they say.
People have to stir up trouble.

Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Guess it’s just best to live one’s life in abandonment to the providence of God and detachment from the good or ill of this life.

And of course, that’s as simple as saying it, right? 😂
