…so…“in My Father’s House there are many mansions” (we are all different somewhere)…You are blest indeed to be spared worrying (a useless exercise anyway! achieves nothing but often not an easy achievement (gift) not to worry)…

The quotes were meant to be in the light hearted mode…apologies for not stating this!:o …Not often but sometimes I do post these more light hearted thoughts for today and in future will try to remember to state that it is meant to be so…Barb:)
Yes I took it that way so no probs Barb.

Hey I was looking through “The warehouse” (like Kmart) and for $ 9.99 each I was able to find some DVDs “Abraham”, “Joseph”, “Jesus”, “David”, “Joshua”, “Jeremiah”. All very good productions as though you are there, no thrills and as rough as they would have lived in.
Could be worth looking into if you can.

Keep on keeping on, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Godbless

Hi again Wayne…I will try to remember in future if a post any funny or tongue in cheek type of quotes, to ensure that they are marked so. I am glad you did not take them seriously, but some may have. :o

Thanks for sharing re the DVD’s - on my “To Get List” and I’ll get Pauline Media to check for me if available. They are very good to me and research much on my behalf and then are happy to wait if necessary for payment - what else can a gal ask? David and Jeremiah are two of my very favourties …

Blessings and regards, Wayne…and a big keep on keeping on to you also…Barb:)

***Barb, although I got them in The Warehouse they come through “Time Life”, if you are not able to get them in Aus, I could send them over it wouldn’t cost much at all and would be no probs.

Wayne, this is a truly generous and thoughtful offer:thumbsup: - but I would not put you to that trouble. Trust me, if there is a way to get these DVD’s in Australia, or get them into Australia, then Pauline Media will find out for me…they have been outstandingly good to me for many many years now and tolerate with great graciousness my sometimes really late payment. I am even on their Christmas Card list!😃 (it is computer generated of course and doubtless lifted from their databank of customers…hence all customers get one, and perhaps even the lovely handwritten message I do get yearly on the inside of my card) I do feel in supporting Pauline Media as a very active customer, I am helping their cause along.👍 They are run by the Sisters of St. Paul.

Laughter is good medicine!

Theme: Reality is not necessarily as it may initially appear.
A small plane was carrying three passengers over a mountain range – an old man, his grandson, and an eminent scientist.
Suddenly, the pilot burst into the cabin, saying ‘The engines have all failed! Grab a parachute and jump from the plane!’ With this, the pilot opened the cabin door and leapt out with his parachute.
To their dismay, the 3 passengers discovered only 2 parachutes were left in the cabin!
The Eminent Scientist took a pack, saying ‘I’m sorry you two, but I won a Nobel Prize, I am the head of several intellectual Think Tanks – honestly, I’m worth more to society than either of you’. The Eminent Scientist leapt from the plane.
The Old Man turned to his grandson and said, ‘My dear boy, take the last parachute. I’ve had a good life. Yours has just begun.’
‘Don’t worry, Grandpa’ said the young boy, ‘that guy just jumped out the plane with my backpack.’

Hi GA…No, the quote does not come from a book in my possession, rather the quote landed in my email Inbox as most of the quotes in this thread do. I would like to read Meister Eckhart as extracts I have read appeal, just one of those things I’ve never got round to actually doing.
I hope that reading Eckhart will prove to be a rich blessing on your journey.

Blessings and regards…Barb:)
Thank you for your kind wishes and blessings and I return blessings in abundance to you also.

Thank you very much, GA:thumbsup:

When all is going wrong in every way!

  • “The Practice of the Presence of God,” by Brother Lawrence
Brother Lawrence counseled:
That when we enter upon the spiritual we should consider, and
examine to the bottom, what we are. And then we should find
ourselves worthy of all contempt, and such as do not deserve the
name of Christians, subject to all kinds of misery, and numberlessaccidents, which trouble us, and cause perpetual vicissitudes inour health, in our humours, in our internal and externaldispositions: in fine, persons whom GOD would humble by many painsand labours, as well within as without. After this, we should notwonder that troubles, temptations, oppositions and contradictions, happen to us from men. We ought, on the contrary, to submitourselves to them, and bear them as long as GOD pleases,

as matters highly advantageous to us.

Envy and the negative fruit of this vice
Wed. 3.9.08

**The envious man is cruel, proud, unfaithful, impatient, and quarrelsome; and, what is strange, when this vice gains the mastery, he is no longer master of himself, and he is unable to correct his many faults.
  • If the bond of peace is broken,
  • if the rights of fraternal charity are violated,
  • if truth is altered
  • or disguised,
it is often envy that hurries him on to crime. **

And where was the soooo people minded person???

An Irish friend decided to go for a ride in this hot air balloon a friend gave him. He got up to 1000 feet and thought “what a view”. All of a sudden clouds covered the sky hiding his view, he became lost.
He decided to descend and at 30 feet from the ground he saw a man standing there so he yelled out to him, “A hoe there can you tell me where I am”?

The man on the ground yelled back “You can’t fool me, your up there in that balloon”!!!

Oh yeh…

Our natural body will become our incorruptible spiritual body****
Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in an instant, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

My comment: We need to remember that our humanity and our world are not against The Spirit…rather from the first, God saw that His creation was good! We failed him, but we are raised again, redeemed, by Jesus…and once again God looks at His creation and sees not only that it is good but in His Son that it is holy and sacred, worthy of praising and thanking Him eternally for His Endless Mercies born of His Eternal Goodness.

I find it daunting (to say the least) that God (our Father) would have that much mercy after seeing, or knowing the outcome of His children’s humanistic approach to God’s endless Love for and to His children. Yet! He would want to save them, and He knew that it would be in sending His only SON Jesus (in the flesh) that the fullness of God’s MERCY would be proclaimed, yet! once again this action of our Father would still cause a storm until the end of (as our life is) time on this earth.

Hi Wayne and thank you again for a great contribution. The Incarnation - that God became human like one of us - can break in on one with even more and more stunning and awesome force.

In Jesus is the answer for all that perturbs and brings suffering to mankind. He has the means to bring peace, harmony and joy to life and to mankind - our world…how do we get this important message across continually almost draws my focus and first and foremost I think we need to always people that cause others to ponder. That is the first step I think in evangelizing … to be the message we proclaim.

  • “The Practice of the Presence of God,” by Brother Lawrence
Brother Lawrence explained
That in the beginning of his novitiate he spent the hours appointed
for private prayer in thinking of GOD, so as to convince his mind
of, and to impress

deeply upon his heart, the Divine existence rather by devout sentiments, and submission to the lights of faith, than by studied reasonings and elaborate meditations.
That by this short and sure method, he exercised himself in the knowledge andlove of GOD, resolving to use his utmost endeavour to live in acontinual sense of His Presence, and, if possible, never to forgetHim more.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected when received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the invocation of God in prayer.
~ St. Paul, 1 Timothy 4:4-5

The clearer our destiny appears, the more we are aware and convinced that its realization depends less upon our action than upon our unconditional abandonment to the conduct of divine providence.

Yes for me if I deny my humanness a little, then, I realize the little I realy love. It therefore forces me (willingly) to pursue that road even more into folly. Thus the more I find, the more I wish to deny. The more I realize just how little I deny since all I think and do becomes related to God’s love for us.

Godbless Barb.

Having been through what I have today, recorded in “your thoughts on self denial” one might think differently. Oh! how human we can relate. But to carry on is the only option for there is no place to go without thinking and wanting more and more to relate to being inside the “Heart of Jesus”.

Godbless Barb.
