Hello.

I’m expecting this to be a very short thread but would like to be proven wrong.

Anyone out there who enjoys doing laundry as much as I do?

I find it fulfilling and stress-relieving.

I love ironing.
And I don’t mind washing them ( infact I prefer to wash them ) if other people wash them school uniforms get covered in fluff n my whites come out not white. My darks end up in with the towels ( not good for my blazer and coat )
And I prefer to hang them on the line however I really dislike folding the washing.

If I.fold the washing and leave it on the kids beds it ends up on the floor if I fold the washing and leave it on the chair or table it ends up on the floor if I fold the washing and put it away I get moaned at beacuse no one can find anything beacuse apparently socks in there pairs and underwear don’t belong in the top draw or draws one sock needs to go in one draw with a random pile of clothes chucked in and the other sock belongs in another draw or on a book case or under the bed… mabye I need to get the 2 older kids to do there own washing

I like everything, except I feel a little dejected when something has to go out for dry-cleaning.

I like the sorting of the colors, the separating of the towels, and most especially, the watching of the wash. There’s a certain suspense. Will the yellow shirt land first after the 1st turn of the tumbler, or will it be the green pants? Are those jeans upset by getting a bath? They must accept that they can’t smell that way. Does it hurt that slip to hang dry? I mean, how would I like to be thrown around then be put on a stretching machine for hours on end? Yet there is this satisfaction. I can’t explain it.

I like folding. It’s okay. I don’t like to hang the laundry outside much, unless it’s a blanket or something big. Most laundry needs privacy.

I’ve also tried taking the kids clothes off the line putting it in washing baskets and getting the kids to fold and put away there own washing. The washing basket gets tipped out (either beacuse they can’t find something or theyve found more dirty washing) and argh the washing ends up on the floor

I am thankful our line is out the back and has its privacy towels on the outside smalls on the inside we don’t own a dryer I got rid of it around the same time I got rid of the dishwasher

I like sorting my clothes I get fussy with how my clothes get washed and hung

I also enjoy doing laundry. I like it when I am watching tv and I can hear the washer going. I like taking the warm clothes or bedding from the dryer. It just makes me happy to have clean clothes, clean towels and bedding again! I live alone so I only do laundry twice a week.
When I didn’t have a washer and dryer I even liked going to the laundromat.

I like making use of the wind that’s blowing ,to dry the clothes outdoors.I enjoy the poultry coming over and inspecting the basket and joining in the singing with their own sounds.
I enjoy seeing billowing shirts and trousers dancing on the clothes line 🙃

The condo where I live was built with inadequately sized plumbing for a washing machine, hence, I’ve had to use a laundromat for nearly 35 years 😒. It gets old, sharing the laundry facilities with a lot of strangers… But clean laundry is always nice 🙂

Making mental note to invite Crenfo to my house and make sure they feel at home. 😀

I don’t mind the laundry.

It just never ends.

My family isn’t that large, but they generate so much laundry.

I didn’t have a washing machine for a year and would use the laundromat. I’d go 2 or 3 times a week.

I’d get quiet time that way. Between washes. I was never comfortable leaving the wash and going out for errands.

I love doing the laundry at the laundromat. Running all loads simultaneously in multiple machines means I’m done in three hours. Washing the same loads sequentially in one machine can take days (no dryer, limited clothesline capacity).

Like @Brendea, I love to iron. I find it therapeutic. 😊

I don’t mind doing laundry. I like to use the clothesline when possible, because the clothes smell so good that way. However, I also have a line in my basement. I feel like I accomplished something “good” when I am able to not use the dryer.

I like to fold clothes while watching TV, and I find ironing to be a time where I get a lot of thinking done. I often have to stop and start a list of things I come up with in my deep thinking mode, so I always keep paper and pencil handy. 😊

My least favorite part of laundry is putting it away. 😠

I would rather clean bathrooms. I’m so glad I’m married to someone who feels as you do about laundry.

Oh, that hit the spot. I like to have the washer going too before I sit down at the computer, and I like the dishwasher to be going simultaneously, but that’s usually too much for my husband. We have long, involved discussions about when it’s best to run the dishwasher. He doesn’t like the dishwasher to be so busy. Sometimes I win, sometimes he does. When they’re (they = dishwasher & washer) both washing, I feel like I’m being emotionally supported. Some clothes are very particular when it comes to the fabric softener, too. I’m most conflicted about using fabric softener on socks.

I worry that the dishes on the top rack feel superior to those on the bottom rack. I try to let them take turns and practice justice, but some of the measuring cups have got to be pretty arrogant by now.

I went to the laundromat for years. I got to know all the workers there, their dogs, and the owners and their child. I once had nose surgery - had stitches in my nose & the police were there and they thought I was being abused. For a class I wrote a 7-page essay about my laundry history. I might be a little eccentric, but everybody’s clothes are clean.

@Brendea, what do you like about cleaning the bathroom?

I find all the scrubbing and polishing and wiping therapeutic and I love re organising the shelves in the bathroom and the way it smells so fresh and clean afterwards

I like clean clothing, but hate doing laundry and view it as a necessary evil.

Speaking of clean laundry i love the feeling of clean fresh sheets on my bed. One of the most simple pleasures in life is going to bed in nice clean sheets.

I hate the folding and putting away.

But I love Clean Sheet Day.
