Hi everyone, yesterday I helped my friend of 13 years move out of her boyfriend’s apartment. As I was doing it I was comforting her because she was crying and she was saying things like “I will miss the sex so much” (she was also going on about how much she loves him, but this part struck me particularly.) I ddin’t say anything because I don’t know how to respond to things like this. I view it as being wrong from where I am in life now (I lived with my now husband before we were married or Catholic) so because of this I almost feel like a hypocrite. After we moved her stuff, she talked about wanting to get drunk, smoke weed, among other things that i don’t really agree with. She is a very dear friend, but I find myself not really approving of many of her choices. I guess I’m wondering if it’s wrong to hang aorund someone like this and especially if you don’t say anything? I was warned by my dad not to let her lifestyle rub off on me, which I am not really too worried about since I am married and have a baby on the way which is a different place than where she is in life. I do know if iwere to say something (“I don’t think you should live with your boyfriend because it’s wrong”) she would laugh at me and call me a hypocrite.
