Would you as a Catholic attend a non-Catholic Christian deliverance gathering. Would you feel this is spiritual safe? What do your thoughts of Elijah House and Dr Grant Mullen?

Your thoughts as fellow Catholics will be appreciated.

If I were to join a charismatic group it would be a Catholic one.
It is my experience that Catholics can come under criticism and if not strongly chatechized, can fall into doubt, and some are gradually led out of the Church.
Nevertheless of course there is blessing in prayer, praise, and seeking healing.

Preferably, check if The Sacrament of healing is offered in your Catholic Church,
check if there are good Catholic charismatic prayer groups anywhere near you, with a wise spiritual leader, best of all, a priest.

Thanks, Trishie for your (name removed by moderator)ut. The person who recommended this to me is a Catholic and stated that the Catholic Church did not do so well in this area. Which I felt was a little off.

I spoke to my spiritual director who disagrees with this recommendation. My spiritual director has known me for a long time has worked within the healing ministries of the Catholic Church for many decades.

Those who receive a prophetic person . receive a prophetic reward.

Spiritual decernment has a learning curve. And is not guarantee d

I’m not sure why anyone would look elsewhere for something that can be found within the Church. I’ve never heard of those people.
There are PLENTY of Charismatic Catholics, if you’re really seeking it.

You mean “deliverance” as in deliverance from demons? Don’t go near that. Who the heck knows what they would do there. And why would you want to go? If you’re fearing demons, you need a Catholic priest, not Joe Deliverance from the yellow pages.

Those that can will do

Thank you all for your responses.

As I said before the suggestion and person felt off. The situation and environment in which I was told was not ideal either. I feel the person who had told this to me has been delving into other non-Catholic Christian religions. More than likely a ploy from Satan to move me away from the Lord and the Catholic Church.

I certainly would not do such a thing and do not feel that I am afflicted in this way in which deliverance is required. Nor does my Spiritual Director agree with this persons suggestion.
