Thoughts: Teens reading "Love and Responsibility"

What would your thoughts be on a teen reading “Love and Responsibility?” It’s someone that is very strong in their faith and is already fimilar with TOB.

Would it be a good next step for a teen in that situation?
 
it depends on the teen. i think L&R is pretty advanced.

if you are not the parent, you should also discuss it with them.
 
I have read that… it is not an easy read for an adult, let alone a teenager.

But you can’t predict a person’s reading level from his/her age. Some teens can read Aquinas and understand him… they would have no trouble with this book! 😃

Just as important, I think, is that the teenager in question is emotionally mature and well-adjusted. Sexual issues can be hard for teens to grasp, especially the boys, who usually feel like they are drowning in hormones. JP II’s writings on the Theology of the Body are written at a fairly abstract level. Love and Responsibility takes it to a somewhat more detailed level and it may touch on issues that some teens would be uncomfortable thinking about.
 
it’s not be, but so you all think it would work for a mature late-teen (17-18)? Thanks for all the help. A friend needed a second opinion…
 
May need some guidance. The language is rather demanding, definitely academic level, not necessarily for firsties either.
 
I’d suggest “men, women, and the mystery of love”

easier reading
 
Love and Responsibility while a wonderful book, is a very difficult read. It’s very theological and philosophical and I don’t believe was written for the average person yet alone a teen.
