The physical heart of St. John Vianney has resisted decay for more than 150 years. There were long lines of people come to see and venerate his heart.

One person there said that he found it remarkable “just the way the people stood in awe” when the relic came into the church during the offertory. It arrived “in profound silence, and it was very moving…

“We always want to expose her to the wonders of the Catholic Church, at any age,” said one woman about her five-year-old daughter.

“It’s important for all us Catholics and Christians, everybody, to pray for the crisis in the Church currently, and to ask for his intercession in order to help the healing of the Church and the families,” said one person who came there from Connecticut.

Saint Vianney’s heart is being carried all over the United States.

Way better title than all the “Catholics Worship 150-Year-Old Heart of French Priest” articles I’ve been seeing this last week. 😉

I saw the heart when it passed through a month or two ago, and may see it again when it swings back. If the line was this huge in NYC I’m glad I didn’t try to go there. I’m happy to see the crowds come out, but for Padre Pio’s relics I had to get there super early to be in the first 20 in line and by the time I came out about an hour later the line was out of the Cathedral and about 2 blocks down the side street. Catholics represent!
