I used to come to these forums all the time for many years now. I used to love the diverse conversations, debates etc we used to have here.

I am finding now MOST of the threads now are getting hijacked by the Baha’i on here to either a) steer all conversations to their faith b) at any given opportunity, link information about their faith (ie proselytising) c) telling Catholics how to understand our bible. Etc etc

Look Baha’i, we as Catholics know the bible better than anyone, Muhammad is not in it for starters, I can go on. I would appreciate, & I think many others on here would agree with me, stop hijacking threads & going off subject. We are Catholics & refuse to read the endless material you link to Baha’i sites, even in threads that have nothing to do with your faith.

Sorry, but I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way

First of all, we are not allowed to start a thread like this.
Second, what you claiming is simply not true. Most threads ARE NOT being hijacked by the Baha’is. There are plenty of threads here in which they do not participate.
Third…ah, you do realize you started a thread that will automatically attract that which you are complaining about…

I identify totally with you about the Baha’i, I have come to the point where I do not even read their material. I am however sulking a bit that you do not want any non-Catholics of the Christian faith to participate either. I was under the impression we were welcome even though we are inferior and misguided.

All Faiths are welcome here especially on the non Catholic forum. You are certainly NOT inferior, misguided maybe but not inferior.

Please enjoy and learn from us all here on the CA forums.

Well, in the Non-Catholic forum you’re going to get Non-Catholics.

Call me crazy…:coffeeread:

Hi Dolphine,
You’ve been around here for a while. I think you’d agree that there are more Lutherans here than Baha-i. We are probably far more participatory than the few Baha’i who are here. Do you think we hijack threads?
That’s a rhetorical question, and my point is I don’t believe they are hijacking threads, and certainly not most of them.

I think Eric does a quality job protecting the integrity of the NCR forum.
That said, the ignore feature is always an option.

Your posting history shows you have started your share of Muslim threads.
Just saying.

As long as the Baha’i posters stay within forum rules they can post wherever they want to. CAF does not make one rule for Catholics and another rule for everyone else. If Jack Chick wanted to post here and stay within forum rules, he’s allowed.
Besides, if they are here to proselytize, they should be fired by the Baha’i Grand Poopah. 😃
J/K Baha’i posters.

In any of the Traditional Catholicism, Liturgy and Sacraments, Spirituality, Eastern, etc… threads I have either participated in or read, I have never found this to be a problem. Ever.

If you’re complaining about Baha’i participating in the Non Catholic Reglions subforum… 🤷

In any event, if for whatever reason you think its a problem, taking it up with a moderator is probably a better course of action than starting a thread about it.

If discussions here were just a matter of predictable responses to predictable arguments on predictable topics the forum would die.

Baha’i posters obviously provide a different kind of challenge and why not?

You are welcome!

I will always remain Catholic because I know it is the Truth. However, I enjoy learning about other faiths.

I’ve only seen one thread on the Baha’i faith. I just avoid threads I’m not interested in. All faiths, and even atheists, are welcome here as long as they are polite.

I thought about not answering, as someone did stated above, by starting this you are attracting a reply anyway 😉

It is comments like you have posted as to why we are here.

A Baha’i is a follower of all religions thus we defend and promote all true Religion. the Bible is Gods Word and is not exclusive.

You should look at your comment as per Historical occurrences to see they are, well a bit shallow. If a book is indeed known better by the people that have custody of it, then there would be no Christians as the Jews would have squashed the uprising of the Hijacking Christians and no one would have read the New Testament.

I will leave this post with no further comment. This is to show we are just here to make you think more about what one says about other religions, religions we as Baha’is Love and take to heart under our One and Only God.

Regards Tony

Exactly.

Anyway, OP, this thread you have started is against forum rules. It isn’t true, either - and if you really don’t like seeing post about other threads, don’t read them.

One has to say the Baha’is here are very active, enthusiastic and participatory posters. In the process it is inevitable that they can be seen as hijacking threads when in their argument about other religions, like Islam, it got steered into discussing about Baha’ism. In that sense there is perhaps disappointment that the topic of the thread is not adhered to. Sometimes we like to really exhaust on what can be discussed under a certain topic/thread and see how it goes, all the way.

It is, however, difficult to pin point that they do that on purpose. Besides, we cannot really quantify this kind of things.

In any case, got to admire their patience. They were able to maintain their composure most of the time.

As for the Bahai’s materials and links being generously shared, this poster may has to be counted as those Catholics who may not be too keen and free to go through them, unless they relate directly to the conversation. Sorry about that. 😛

Is that necessary (to shoot the messenger)?
I didn’t view that statement as rude. Posting history exists.
It’s helpful because it brings context.
There’s a reason why people should be careful what they say. None of it ever gets deleted. 😉

They do tend to redirect every topic they comment on, to their own faith.
