Thread Hijacking.

I haven’t been able to be on here much in the last year, but some of the best conversations I’ve had come after the OP is answered and more ideas are on the table which can lead down various paths.

Okay guys, in case you wondered why I left this thread up…
The problem is I have seen thread hijacking coming from many sources. It’s notorious in Orthodox and Lutheran related threads. Many times the problem comes from threads that are open-ended or with a vague topic. Threads like that have a tenancy to wander away from what one person wanted to talk about, to something else another person would rather discuss. In an open-ended thread it’s like herding cats.
Threads with specific topics need to stay on those topics. They are open to everyone, but must remain on topic. If you see someone not remaining on topic, report it. It’s not a huge infraction, but it is easier to round up.
But keep in mind, mods cannot read every word in every thread. We simply do not have the time. And too many citations tend to anger the more sensitive souls here and stifles conversation. So, you guys need to self-moderate to an extent. Gently remind the other poster to stay on topic, if they don’t, THEN report it.
I’m going re-title the thread BTW.

Dolphin ~ I totally understand what you are trying to state…

Every time a Islam/Quran/Muslim thread is created, our Bahai posters pretty much take over.

As I read these types of threads and I see a Bahai posting, I just keep scrolling and bypass.

And you know, we have lost just about all of our original Muslim posters from here. Not many come in to post & discuss about Islam. It looks like the Bahai have taken their place.

Take good care ~ I miss the old days here on CAF.

Even some of our great Catholic posters who had great debates/discussions on Islam have left.

Perhaps the reason many Muslim posters do not post has to do with the anti-Muslim rhetoric I have seen on certain sub-forums here. Read it some time. I’m sure it’s the feeling Catholics get on CARM.
