Three days and three nights in the tomb

Hi, I am new to the forums and have a question maybe someone can answer. I am Catholic and definitely believe Jesus died for our salvation on Good Friday and rose on Easter Sunday. But I have heard people ranting that the Catholic Church is wrong to say that because Christ said He would be thee days and three nights in the tomb. When He was discussing the sign of Jonah he said that; that is indeed in the Gospels.

Anyway, I get that Friday-Saturday-Sunday equals three days. But if Christ rose from the dead (as He did) on Easter Sunday morning, how do we interpret or explain his prophecy about three nights?

The writings called John have Jesus die before the passover meal.
But in the gospel called Mark, Jesus died the day after the passover meal.
Depending on what year he died…if it was year 30, then Passover was on a Friday I think…and if it was year 33, then Passover looks to be on a Saturday or Sunday.
So if he died after passover in year 33, he may have died on a Sunday or Monday.

We know that Jesus died on a Friday and that He rose on the First day of the week, Sunday.

Luke’s Gospel proclaims that Christ rose on the first day of the week. ** Luke 24:1, 2, 6, 7, 13, 19-21
“1. But at daybreak on the first day of the week they took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
2. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb …
6. He is not here, but he has been raised. Remember what he said …
7. that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified, and rise on the third day.” …
13. Now that very day two of them were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus …
19 … Jesus the Nazarene …
20. how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over to a sentence of death and crucified him.
21. But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel; and besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place.”**
It is possible to question whether or not the Last Supper took place on Holy Thursday, but the Friday and Sunday timeline is certain.

Jesus was in the heart of the earth “just as” Jonah was in the belly of the great fish. Jonah was in the hold of a ship sleeping for part of the time and in the inside of a whale for the other part of the time. Jesus was in Pilates prison for part of the time and in the tomb the rest of the time, both under ground so in the heart of the earth. So the three days and three nights in divided into two locations in both Jonah’s and Jesus’ cases. Second, Jesus was a sacrifice. Sacrifices became corrupt on the morning of the second or third day depending on the type of sacrifice. So certainly by the third night Jesus’ body would no longer have been a fit sacrifice. I hold that Jesus (with Annie Jaubert PhD The Date of the Last Supper) held the last supper on Tuesday evening, was condemned by the Sanhedrin at 6AM Thursday and Condemned by Pilate at 6AM Friday. So three days and three night in the proper order From Thursday at 6AM.
