  1. The Sacraments, particularly the Eucharist. Also confession. And Holy Orders. But particularly the Eucharist. Just wow.
Why? Because of what they are. Because of how God gives himself to us despite how completely unworthy we are. How we can receive Him body and blood, soul and divinity and then if we slip up and commit an awful sin, He waits for us to return to Him and showers us with mercy no matter what we’ve done. And then we can go receive our Eucharistic Lord again. What an incredible God we have, and how blessed we are to be in this Church. We should all be striving to be saints just so that this God of ours who is all goodness and all beauty is offended less often.
  1. The saints
Look at these wonderful people! They’re so virtuous! So… saintly! I look at them and see what God has done in their lives. Not a single one of them would have been saintly if it weren’t for God’s help, and this just shows what a merciful God we have. Look at St Mary of Egypt’s story. Yikes! Before her conversion, she was a mess! But she’s a canonized saint! And the mystics. I just love how God will transform a person if given the chance. We have so much to learn from these holy people.
  1. The incredible art
I’m a convert. The thing that first made me notice Catholicism was this really old absolutely gorgeous church.

I’m a new Catholic and my answers might change with time and in fact, might change day to day.
  1. I love ritual. People complain about rituals but I love them. I love the processions, what the priests and deacons wear, kneeling, the candles, the incense, etc.
  2. I love the Mass. It is a glimpse into heaven and I can feel my soul being massaged.
  3. I love the hierarchy of the church. I came from a church that had no hierarchy and the fact that there are Bishops and a man in charge is great. They are working very hard to make sure my Mass is a slice of heaven and so much more.

Themost holy. Eucharist and the apostolic succession and the unity of the church

And as to education, yes that pre dates Christianity, however I am not so sure about schools that educated the common man. I believe that is solely a Catholic thing.
It was the Church that invented the University system, not education in general.

  1. The real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ
  2. The fullness of the truth is has
  3. How I can go anywhere in the world and find a Catholic Church and enter and feel at home inside.
  4. The vast amount of charity it provides worldwide. Unparalleled.
  5. That the Church is not just earthy but also Heavenly
  6. That it produces saints
  7. The Saints
  8. That despite the bad Catholics throughout history there has been a lot more good coming out of the Church and that doctrine has remained pure and unchanging

  1. The Holy Orders
  2. The Religious Life
  3. The Apostolate.
Our Church exists because of these three entities. We cannot completely function if two or one of these elements present.

Shalom!

Our Church couldn’t exist without the Pope! It’s through him the Holy Spirit works to keep us solid in Christ’s TRUTH. God Bless, Memaw

The Priesthood
The Eucharist (aka Jesus - for those who don’t know what Eucharist means)
Confession

Thank you Father God for You knew exactly what we needed to help us as we journey home to You. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

I think he meant the Gospels and NT and you are right the Catholic canonized the NT. Otherwise we probably wouldn’t have a NT today but rather a mesh of Gnostic and inspired books and confusion everywhere.

The Church pre-dates the NT obviously not the Old Testament.
It was Catholics that wrote the New Testament and the Catholic Church that put it together. God Bless, Memaw.

The Church cannot exist without Jesus. The Church is meaningless without Jesus.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith because the Eucharist is Jesus, and Jesus is the source and summit of our faith.

Religious life exists because of Jesus.
The apostolate exists to bring people to Jesus.
The priesthood exists to make Jesus present.
Confession exists because God wishes us to know the mercy of Jesus.
The Old Testament leads to Jesus.
The New Testament are the words, acts and teachings of Jesus.

Every second of every day during which the Church existed, anything the Church has ever done or gave us, every brick in every building, every act, word or prayer of the Church is because of Jesus. Anything the Church has ever done wrong is because it has separated itself from Jesus.

Anything any one of you love about the Church is because of Jesus. It all comes from Jesus.

I definitely agree with you Tim; Jesus is the Center of our Church because He is the Holy Mother Church.

Shalom!

Jesus started the Church, gave us the hierarchy with the appointment of the apostles, and he gave us the sacraments, promising to be with us always until the end of the age in the Eucharist, in the confessional through his priests, in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We are the Body of Christ, the church militant here on earth.🙂

  1. We have access to a multitude of saints that we can call upon on our behalf to help us in our need
  2. We have one shepherd, that has one lineage that has never been broken. (We all follow Jesus but we need someone to lead us here on earth) We may have had a share of bad popes, but still the line is not broken
  3. We have one Magisterium, the teaching has, had and never will change. The method on which it is taught may be different depending on the times and the audience but it never changes.
Addendum: We have a ton of spiritual fathers that we can go to for prayer and support, every parish at least has one. Now that’s Heavenly parenting.

  1. The Father
  2. The Son
  3. The Holy Spirit
I thought we were talking about Holy Mother Church. not the Trinity. Of course God was there before creation even!!, Jesus was there before the Church! God Bless, Memaw
