12 FEB is feast of Sobor (synaksis) of the Ecumenical teachers and saints - Vasilij the Great, Gregory the Teologian and Ioann Chrysostom.

These three Saint Bishops appeared to Patriarch Konstantinopl in 1080 to say that “We are equal to God, as you see, there is no difference among us, there is no contradiction one from the other. Each of us in our time, inspired by Divine spirit, wrote according to truth for salvation of people.”

Perhaps Orthodox and Catolic believers can find some similar thing to say to each other -rather than saying that other is piggish. What matters in any case is how God sees us. Even disagreeing with other - let us try to see Christ our God in others and their “clan.” We all want to have eternal blessing and to be of service to God and other close people - just as Holy 3 Saints said.

I’m sure they meant they were like God in their unity, as Jesus prayed to the Father, “…that they also may be one in us.” We aren’t at this time totally united, but there can at least be unity in charity, in believing the best of each other’s intentions, in growing together in the love of God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) through the Eucharist.

When is Easter this year for you? Ours comes in March, we are now in Lent.
