A few weeks ago we found out that we were pregnant. My wife had her first ultrasound yesterday and ladies and gentlemen…we’re having triplets!!! I gotta tell you that I’m still a little numb. I’ve never seen my wife so excited, and our families are practically backflipping through the halls (although when I first told my mom on the phone, I’m pretty sure that she stopped breathing for a few seconds 😃 )

I have to tell you though (as unlike when we first found out that we were expecting a few weeks back, we both failed miserably at keeping this one a secret  ), some people were very rude when they found out. It was unintentional and at least partially in jest I’m sure, but I got some “I’m so sorry” or “I feel really bad for you” responses. Some people even asked if I was going to have a vasectomy, and reacted as if something were wrong with me when I said that I wasn’t. Actually, pretty much everyone assumed that we were going to begin using some form of birth control, which kind of irritated me…

Nevertheless, our families and close friends were ecstatic and we’re still on the high that comes before the terror sinks in. As all pregnancies above twins are considered high risk, there’s still quite a bit that could go wrong. Please keep us in your prayers with the hope that everything goes smoothly and we give birth to 3 healthy children in the spring. Thanks.

Eric

Congratulations! You and your family will be in my prayers.

Don’t let thr reaction of the world bother you. You have been given a great gift from God. People think that my wife and I are crazy for just having 3 kids, never mind multiples.

My wife’s cousin has triplets and even though they are kept busy, they wouldn’t have it any other way and want more children.

Praying for you through the intersession of St. Gerrard for a healty pregnancy.

Wow! Super-ultra-congratulations!!! I hope mom, dad and babies have a happy and healthy 9 months!

Oh wow, how cool!!! You guys deserve congratulations x3!!!

Prayers for your wife and your 3 children!!! 🙂

Don’t listen to the pessimistic and rude people. You have been given a wonderful gift (well, 3 of them!) from God, and you know that. Some people just don’t view children for what they are, which are blessings!

I’m glad your family and close friends are so happy for you and supportive.

Praying for health for your whole family! 😃

Congratulations to you and your wife. I will be praying for a healthy pregnancy for your wife and health for your babies.

Congrats!!! That is awesome!!! Just be sure to listen when the doc says bed rest that you keep your woman in bed… that was the hardest part when I was having twins…

Eric,
I just PM’ed you a link to a blog, the mom just delivered triplets and she carried them for over 36 weeks!!! Many prayers for your wife, you and your babies!!!

Congratulations! I hope you can get a little help with them until they are about a year old.🙂 My sister already had a one year old when she had twins. I helped her out. It was such a great joy! If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask family members or people from church. At the church potlucks there is usually a line of people waiting to hold or feed a baby while the mom and dad eat.😃

BTW my sister was put on bed rest at first, but went on to carry the twins to a week past their due date. One was 8 lbs and 1 oz and the other was 7 lbs and 14 oz. She was 5’5" and weighed 108 lbs before she got pregnant with the twins.

I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Congratulations!!! Congratulations!! Congratulations! 👍 How wonderful! It will be hard, as being new parents is hard for EVERYONE! But you’ll do just fine!. Just love those babies and don’t stress to much if the dishes aren’t done right away 😉

Good for you standing up and saying “No I’m not getting a vasectomy, no we aren’t using ABC!”! high five

congratulations!!
We had twin boys this summer … born at 37 1/2 weeks, both over 6 lbs!!

Protein, protein, more protein, lots of rest, and lots of water! I’d recommend the Dr Barbara Luke book about multiple pregnancies.

If you can, I’d start making freezer meals now, to have on hand after the babies are born. Please PM me if you have any questions. Having multiples is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but also one of the most blessed!!

Oh … you may want to start blogging now, too, to keep up with everything!

Oh my goodness!!! Triplets!!! WOW!!!

You are SOOOO blessed! :heaven:
