Oh wow, thank you for sending this today. In my HS CCD class this Sunday we discussed Satan and his works…and I could tell from the looks on some of their faces, they do not believe that Satan is alive and does indeed roam the earth seeking the ruin of our souls. Far too many of our children have fallen prey to the popular notion that Satan was just a myth created by adults to scare kids into behaving properly.

Wow…God is so good to send this to me today. Thank you my Beloved for once again providing me with exactly what I neeed to teach these young children.

Those are good. But before I opened the site I had 3 others in mind and they come in the form of a story:
A newly arrived demon consults with a more experienced demon about the best strategy to decieve man. The inexperienced one says, “lets go to earth and convince man that there is no God”. The more experienced demon say," no that won’t work, man will look at the beauty of creation and the miracle of life and surely will conclude that there is a God." The inexperienced demon suggested, “lets go to earth and convince man that there is no devil”. The experienced one said, “no…man will surely see all the violence and useless death all around and conclude sooner or later that there is a devil”. The inexperienced demon at a loss for ideas waited. The experienced demon said, " let us go to earth and convince man that there is plenty of time remaining - that he has all the time in the world".

Plan A: There is no God
Plan B: There is no Satan
Plan C: You have all the time in world

There is also a very helpful chapter in Thomas Merton’s “Seeds of Contemplation” called “the devil’s theology”. It reads a little like C.S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters” but with a more contemplative/
spiritual bend. The book fell into my hands at a time when I suffered a great loss in my life. I’ve read it several times since. A true gift from God.
