God by definition is the creator so the universe must be contingent. So I cannot follow you.
Its only contingent if it is logically possible for God to not exist (it isn’t) or it’s possible for God to not make the universe (it isn’t.)

I.e. since God necessarily exists, and necessarily creates the universe, the universe exists necessarily.

I think it would have been possible, In any case Genesis 6:6 “The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.”
