Thrillers consistent with Catholicism

After reading yet another thriller/adventure novel which turns out to be anti-Catholic, I’m a bit fed up. Can anyone recommend a good thriller novel about the Church that does not involve the Church perpetrating a hoax on its members?

…just wondering, but are Tom Clancy novels consistent with Catholicism?

…seems to be a lot of positive references in the ones I’ve read so far…
 
I have read a number of Clancy novels and you’re right, they are fairly consistent with Catholicism. But what I was trying rather poorly to get at was more the adventure “treasure hunt” thriller a la Da Vinci Code (but better written and without suggesting Mary Magdalene was Jesus’ wife). Still, thanks for the suggestion.
 
I can’t really think of mystery novels of that type that are both adult-genre (rather than youth) and at least neutral in religion. Dan Brown is solidly out, but I’m not sure who’s in.

If anybody has any answers, I too will be looking to see them.

I have found the best Catholic-ish fiction writer is Dean Koontz. His morals are always solid and his Catholic allusions are at least acceptable and sometimes extraordinary. He definitely has a kind eye to his faith. His heroes are usually “the least of these” types, handicapped, mental challenged, or young. “Brother Odd” is even set at a monastery. I especially like the character of Brother “Knuckles”.
 
I thought you meant movies and I thought of the thriller I Confess directed by Alfred Hitchcock who was a Catholic.
