This morning’s radio show had a guy on there that put numbers (percentages) to some of the parables and other bible instructions and information about those that will get into heaven. On here, you will read a lot about how God died for All, but we don’t dig into these other instructions that can help clarify and lead us to Truth.
The first he started with was that of the 10 Virgins (below).
There are so many avenues to walk down, I expect this thread could move in many directions, which is great. If it touches anyone at all. I’m curious what everyone has to say.
My first thoughts while he was analyzing this parable was first how often those who think they are ready, probably do not get in the gates. We are not talking about Christian vs Non, Catholic vs other Denom’s. I think it’s safe to assume in the parable, the 10 were the same religion and knew Truth! 50% don’t get in!
Then my attention goes to the oil, it wasn’t about HAVING the oil, the focus was on the BRINGING of the oil, an action. This brings me to thinking we must act for God, not just show up because we know the address.
In the end, it just really got me thinking about how little I do daily to be prepared for that moment.
Sitting here today, I think I would forget the oil. A scary thought.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins.* 1“Then* the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2* Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, 4but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. 5Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6At midnight, there was a cry, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9But the wise ones replied, ‘No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’ 10While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. 11* a Afterwards the other virgins came and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open the door for us!’ 12But he said in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13b Therefore, stay awake,* for you know neither the day nor the hour.
