**Thy Will Be Done
**
In the Our Father, we solemnly pray “Thy Will be done.”
But what does it mean? How do we unite our wills as one?
How do we know the Will of God and lovingly conform?
How do we put aside petty wants and follow God’s norm?
“Thy Will be done” means doing what God wants in His manner.
How God wants us to live we must faithfully discover.
We must use the resources He has given us and pray,
Asking God to help us understand and show us the way.
God has given us Church, Magisterium, and Bible
To teach us His way and guide us in pathways eternal.
We must listen, pray, and follow these teachings lovingly,
Being open to the Spirit and love unceasingly.
Once we know God’s Will, we must choose to follow completely,
Choosing virtue over vice, choosing to be very holy,
Choosing to put others first over selfishness daily,
And choosing to love with all your heart and soul totally.
Often choices include many that are acceptable,
Reflectful prayer may indicate which is preferable,
But often, our prayerfully making the choice is God’s Will,
Honoring God in what we do as we are best able.
Following God’s Will is easier, as we love God more,
As we share our complete lives, mind, body, and soul, even more.
As we truly love others more, easier to obey,
Following God’s Will completely each and every day.
