He was a comic genius for sure. RIP

Side note: We lost three great entertainers in the past three days: Peggy Lipton (The Mod Squad), Doris Day, and now Tim Conway. My prayers for all of them.

My favorite comedy sketch of all time was his portrayal of a bumbling dentist that kept injecting various body parts with novacaine. I never laughed so hard…ever!

RIP

This was one of my favorite Tim Conway skit.

I think he succeeded in getting both Harvey Korman and Lyle Wagoner to break character and laugh.

Eternal rest grant unto Peggy, Doris and Tim, O Lord, as well as to Jim from “Wild Kingdom” who also passed away, and all the unknown people who have died too.
May they all rest in peace.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

As for Tim, I mostly remember him from the Carol Burnett Show and also when he co-starred with Don Knotts in several Disney movies, especially “The Apple Dumpling Gang” where he and Don were comic villains.

Tim Conway started his career in Cleveland originally and is well known to Clevelanders of a certain age for his involvement with the late Ernie Anderson, who was then a legendary local horror film host (Ghoulardi). Tim got Ernie to move from Cleveland out to Hollywood and become the announcer “voice of ABC” during the Fred Silverman years. Ernie’s voice became one of the most well known in TV (he did the promos for “The Looooove Boat” and a host of other shows and movies).

The “Siamese Elephants” story on the Carol Burnett Show - the funniest thing I ever heard.

Oh that’s too bad! I loved him! Here’s the famous dentist scene:

On another note, I wonder what happened with Lyle Wagoner? I remember how Carol would swoon when he came in…

Like the late Robin Williams, Tim Conway could bring a laugh just by using a facial expression.
I loved Tim’s work on the old Carol Burnett Show. What a clown!
Thanks for the laughs, Mr. Conway. Rest In Peace!

He was one of those people who couldn’t not be funny. May he rest in peace.

I wanted to post it. The one I found featured Vicki Lawrence saying an expletive, so I thought it better not to.

@meltzerboy2 I was a big Mod Squad fan.
I had a crush on Pete. I think that was his name.

Eternal rest to our brother Catholic.

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Merciful Lord, grant the consolation of Your Holy Spirit unto his family and loved ones in this, their time of sorrow.

Amen.

Besides the fact that he’s hilarious, I think another reason I’ve always loved Tim Conway is because my dad is his doppelgänger. It’s kind of strange how sad his passing is making me and I know that’s because I see so much of my dad (who is still alive) in Tim.

My dad was John Wayne’s doppelganger.
So I get sad whenever I watch a John Wayne
movie. My Dad didn’t talk like him, but he could have easily passed for his brother.
So I know what you mean.
