Yes I did. I wasn’t out helping people have them or anything but I was certainly not opposed to it at one time of my life. I have changed my position completely.
I was pro choice many many years ago too. Until I saw my sisters ultrasound. She had one in her first trimester… the time most abortions occur. There was my nephew… not a blob of cells like I was told. Little arms, legs, beating heart… he is 19 and in college right now, I cant imagine life without him in it.

I changed my mind in that one instant.

Like you… I wasnt out helping people either… just believed the BS that abortion people say.
'my body, my choice"… 'its not a baby… its just a blob of cells" that nonsense.

The TRUTH feels good doesn’t it?

God bless you!

Lord Timmsey beat me to the whole Margaret Sanger and her eugenics involvement. Nasty piece of American history. I used to be wishy-washy on the whole pro-choice/pro-life argument as well. When I reverted back to Catholicism I clearly saw the error in my thinking.

In regards to Tim Pawlenty, words are cheap. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall him being a zealous pro-life governor while he was in office. Michelle Bachman, yes; him, no. It sounds like he is trying to garner more votes from the conservative of the conservatives.

The problem is forming that into an argument. I’ve never even seen an ultrasound, I was just taught to be pro-life when I was growing up. I’ve never been an exceptionally good arguer against pro-choicers.

I’ve often debated with people on facebook about the issue, and I get overwhelmed with questions and I’m not sure how exactly to articulate my thoughts and arguments.

Ultrasound pictures.

Are you supporters of banning Planned Parenthood funding aware that abortions only account for 3% of their services?
Then they should have no problem foregoing performimg abortions in order to recieve public funding.

I heard somewhere that PP was started in black ghettos of America in an aim of eradicating African Americans. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?
Margaret Sanger, the being (I hesitate to call her human) who originally founded the organization that became Planned Parenthood, called black Americans “human weeds,” and believed they should be eliminated by one means or another. Birth control was not originally meant for white people, you know. Neither was legalized abortion meant for white Americans. But how could they stop white women from obtaining abortions if they were available to black women? Well for one, PP locates its clinics in poor areas. Not that wealthy women don’t get abortions, they do, just not usually at PP.

If you truly, truly want to know the history of Planned Parenthood, watch this movie on YouTube. It’s been thoroughly researched and documented. It will sicken you, but it’s the truth.

I gave you the link to 1/13 parts, but you can find it in one long piece too.

Planned Parenthood still proudly gives out an annual “Margaret Sanger” award, lest you think that they no longer claim her as their founder. I’m not sure who got it this year, but 2 years ago, the honoree was Hillary Clinton.

That’s not a bad idea.

Instead of taking away their funding, I would support something that says they can no longer provide abortions if they wish to continue getting government funding.

You genuinely changed your view on abortion? Wow, I didn’t know that was possible.

I’ve never seen anyone, pro-life or pro-choice, change their position on it. Cool! :extrahappy:
Well, if it makes your day, I did too.
I was very pro-choice not all that long ago. In fact I had already had a child and was pregnant with my 2nd and I can still remember arguing with a, at the time a pro-life friend, that while I wasn’t planning on getting an abortion (#2 was planned), I wasn’t going to let some “stuff-shirted, suit-wearing, white-haired, predominantly male congress telling me what I could or couldn’t do with my body, and since I was the only in the room who had been pregnant and was pregnant, I was the only one who could voice an opinion.”

#2 is now 6 1/2, #3 just turned 4, #4 is 16mths, and #5 is due in Sept. (#1 turns 10 in 4 weeks:))

I finally realized that the idea of abortion and birth control were really just ways of telling women that they are too stupid, weak or incompetent to take responsibility for their actions. And that attitude didn’t set well with me. So after a couple of years of logically reasoning my way through the morality of it all, here I am, quite pro-life and much happier for it. 😃

First of all, congrats on your pregnancy, and I wish you all the best!

Secondly, I wanted to tell you that I agree completely with what you just said there. I’m a male, so I can’t speak from the female perspective, but I have several very good female friends, and they are of the same opinion as you on this one. PP and the abortion rights activists seem to (in the case of younger women) try to tap into that rebellious streak among teenagers, saying that they can do what they want with “their body” and all that claptrap, appealing to their drive for independence and all that. They’ve encountered girls among their peers who have swallowed that line whole, and it’s deeply troubling to them.

The sad thing is, I never hear much about how these so-called “advocates for women’s rights” speak out against pornography and the depraved fantasy that it depicts concerning women. I suppose they think that that’s “their choice too”? Just a random thought.

From my perspective (strengthened in no small way by an article I read recently from the National Catholic Register), women have cast off the injustices of the past few centuries (denial of suffrage, etc.) only to be hit by an even worse wave of monstrosities: pornography and abortion. Both of which are doing massive amounts of damage to women and their God-given dignity. And the worst part is, they think they’re all right (in regards to abortion, that is)!!!

The crux of it is, that is a human life in your womb. The question has nothing to do with “what you can do with your own body.” I wish more people could see this.

I don’t like how people make the argument “well it’s not your body, hands off!”

It’s not even about the mother, it’s about the human inside. What choice do they have??
