AND HIM Havinh DINNER WITH TIM STAPLES—who cares??? Who he has dinner with has nothing to do with my post–so why even write that??? All you have to say is that you admire the man’s apologetic’s-----the point of my original post was to state my opinion—THAT WE SHOULD STRESS THE CHURCH (FORMAL MEMBERSHIP) IS NECESSARY FOR SALVATION–AND NOT EMPHASIZE INVINCIBLE IGNORANCE NEARLY AS MUCH----also emphasize that other religions, including Protestants, run the risk of going to hell for not entering the catholic church—

Who hurt you in life? Did somebody fill you with all of this rage or was it something you decided on yourself?
Every single post of yours is filled with such venom, self-righteousness and extremely poor grammar. They usually start out with a “cap” or 2, then the graduate to an almost frightening litany of misguided, “CapsLocked”, misspelled rants. And almost every one of them has the exact same phrase:
"Protestants, run the risk of going to hell for not entering the catholic church!"
I’ve gotta tell you, MarineBoy, I’d be a lot more frightened of the consequences of sitting in judgement of people’s hearts than in being a Protestant.
Perhaps, you should simmer down, take a deep breath, open up your Bible to 1 Peter 3:15-16 and read the following. I KNOW he was speaking to all of us, but he might have meant you in particular, my friend:

" . . .Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame."

There is nothing wrong with “telling it like it is” - but are you doing it with love - or pride?
Are you doing it with gentleness and respect - or are you trying to win an argument?

There was a great old hymn we used to sing during mass in the ‘70s - and it goes sumthin’ like this:
"We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord . . . . and they’ll know we are Christains by our love."

Remember, my friend:
"Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ" - St. Jerome

I like Tim Staples too, he is a very fine man and I appreciate him. I think he is a great person to talk to those who may not “fully” understand all that has been revealed. Even as a cradle Catholic, I thought he made wonderful, valid points, and I like his attitude for why he is doing what he does.👍

Just my:twocents:

The Catholic Church makes some very grave claims about herself being the normal means for the salvation of all men. As Catholics, we accept them at face value, but non-Catholics have a real problem believing that any church can make those claims. I understand their reluctance, after all, they believe that all we need to have is a “personal relationship” with Christ to be saved, but I question their motives. If they know what the Church teaches about her role in salvation, but simply choose not to believe, are they still “invincibly ignorant?” Shouldn’t they at least investigate it for themselves instead of shrugging their shoulders and saying, “whatever?”

In Christ,
JU
