I was wondering what all of you think about Tim Tebow. I for one think it is wonderful that there is someone in the lime light praising the Lord, but we had a conversation about him at my mother -n-law on Sunday. She is a very faithful Catholic, but she feels it is not necessary for him to do things like wear the John 3:16 under his eyes like he used to do in college. I got agravated when she said that because I do not understand what is so wrong with him doing that. I think that is his way of evangelizing, and that is wonderful.

Kerri 🙂

I’m not much of football fan, but I think Tim Tebow totally rules. I LOVE how he is unafraid to speak of his love for Jesus Christ.

I think Tebow’s “religiousness” (for lack of a better word) is actually pretty overblown. I have no doubt that he’s just as devout a believer as has been reported, but he doesn’t advertise it as much as it’s being reported as though he were advertising it. For one thing, the Bible verses on his face-paint aren’t allowed in the NFL, and Tebow is quite adept at answering “faith-questions” in such a way as to not make any news.

Of course, Denver’s improbable winning streak over the past several weeks has only fed Tebow-mania.

Tim Tebow for President!

I like him a lot. Anyone who stands up for Christianity, and appears to live Christ’s message, gets a big thumbs up from me.

Although I’d rather have Eli Manning as my QB, particularly in the last 2 minutes of a game.

I think he’s great!

People will continue to say bad things, because people like to condemn. 🤷

Finally someone I can point my kids to as a role model. I’ve heard he is an admitted abstainer/virgin and he also says “football is just a game”.

Many of us have complained about the public lives of athletes and movie starts. The big non-athletic news in sports these days is on people coming out as proud gays.

Tim Tebow is a breath (gasp?) of fresh air. Not an in-your-face Christian, not a self-promoter, simply not embarrassed to live his faith. I couldn’t care less about sports, but I am a big Tebow fan.

I laugh so much at the Tim Tebow bashing

Guys, How many times have you watched a game where the team held a prayer in the locker room or on the field before the game started? How many times have we seen a QB point his finger in the air after throwing a touchdown? How many times have we seen WRs get down on one knee after running in a touchdown? How many times do we hear players thank Jesus or God after winning a game during the press conference.

A gazillion times!

Yet somehow there is so much contempt for Tebow like he’s the ONLY Christian in NFL history, it’s a joke a sad joke and a pathetic attempt for naysayers to bash a Christian and Christianity.

Tim Tebow!
Christian
Homeschooled
Role Model
Virgin
Horrible QB 😃
Flat out winner
I absolutely love it!
That being said, I do not elevate him to god status. We have seen good people fall in the past. I pray that TT has the strength to live up to his image. I cant imagine all the pressure he has on him. I want him to be “David” without the oops that David had.
long live Football.
Here is to the broncos going to the playoffs even if they lose against the Pats…
with God all things are possible.

I love the fact that newspaper articles and ESPN are talking of faith! Even if it is to bash it. That is what Tim brings, a discussion about (gasp) God into lives of people that are more concerned with stats than prayers…

I am thrilled that he’s such an excellent role model in these current days when good ones are so lacking - and that he and his team-mates are doing so well lately! The recent games have been amazing and so much fun to watch, and the interviews with him afterward are even more delightful when he professes his faith and always gives the entire team credit.

He’s an all-around great person - devout Christian, home-schooled, and very humble. May God continue to bless and keep him safe - on and off the field.

He shows a lot of heart in playing the game and is an awesome example of what a Christian should be on and off the field.

That said, I’m not sold on his college-style football play on the professional football field. I’ll be curious how he looks when the coaches actually have an off-season to work with him to see what he will be as a player. The #1 reason the Broncos has done well is because of their defense.

My mother was talking to someone at a Hockey game yesterday who goes to the same church as his parents. She says that all of his siblings are as committed to their faith as Tim. None of them choose to date, and his sister Christy was very open about the fact that she didn’t have her first kiss until her wedding day. She also said that they are all as nice as they appear.

I can’t say I’m that surprised. Tim always struck me as the real deal.

Be very VERY careful holding any human being (aside from saints) up as a role model. You remember what happened with Tiger Woods, right? He looked so squeaky clean perfect, but wow did he have a very crowded closet.
