Time Censors, Later Corrects, Pope Quote Which Called Abortion ‘Killing’ of Baby

Time magazine selectively edited Pope Francis’ significant words on the issue of abortion recently.

Last week ABC News organized a “virtual town hall” for Americans across the country to ask Pope Francis questions about faith, life and their struggles. This forum was meant to give a little preview on what to expect when Pope Francis arrives in the United States in about two weeks.

Yet Time left out some of Pope Francis’ rather hard hitting comments on abortion.

I don’t think anyone is. The secular media has painted Pope Francis as some sort of mass doctrinal-reformer, Hell-bent on changing the core teachings of the Catholic Church to match their “enlightened” concepts. There’s no way they would willingly allow something as insignificant as what Pope Francis actually said contradict their “truths.”

I love how Time noted the quote discrepencies in the correction:

Correction: The original version of this article incompletely quoted Pope Francis’ response to a young woman about the difficulties of being a single mother.

Hmm… they lap up the cry of abuse from Planned Parenthood over editing out people going to the bathroom in video about killing babies for parts, yet snipping out where Pope Francis talks about killing unborn is simply being “incomplete” in their quotes. Last time I checked if you clips parts of quotes you were supposed to use ellipsis to indicate where things were removed.

Im curious what all these networks are going to do when they air live speeches? Will they cut the feed suddenly if he starts talking about abortion, capitalism, greed, etc and we will all see the old “we are experiencing technical difficulties” screens?

I am curious to see how they deal with this, Im sure they will air the live speeches, but the question is, will they somehow censor them or cut them? Hopefully we will be able to tell if they were censored in anyway and take action if so.

Maybe it will be like the American Music Awards with a broadcast delay, but for morality rather than profanity. Given that Pope Francis rarely speaks English in public, perhaps they will simply have summation translations to gloss over those pesky parts. Might be difficult if he goes on more than one or two wods or speaks his native Spanish.

This is no different than anything else in the US, they claim they are open minded and do not have problems with anyone practicing whatever religion they choose, BUT there is a line they will not allow anyone to cross as well, so its fine to be religious, up to a certain point, if the religious people start effecting popular culture, or the popular agendas too much, then its time for a clamp down.

Seems like they would prefer a nation full of ‘fair weather christians’, they certainly would not put up with anyone pushing Gods law too far.
