Did Jesus really pay for our sins through his crucifixion or is the real meaning of Jesus’ life more positive and filled with love, and proof of a loving God?
Did Jesus really pay for our sins through his crucifixion or is the real meaning of Jesus’ life more positive and filled with love, and proof of a loving God?
What Jesus actually did was make POSSIBLE our sin forgiveness in a new manner, that followed the OT use of Priest, BUT now in a new, expanded, and even a perfected manner.
Exodus 28:1
Take unto thee also Aaron thy brother with his sons, from among the children of Israel, that they may minister to me in the priest’ s office: Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Leviticus 5:16
And he shall make good the damage itself which he hath done, and shall add the fifth part besides, delivering it to the priest, who shall pray for him, offering the ram, and it shall be forgiven him.
WHAT Jesus is doing here is taking OT tradition, and perfecting it in the New Covenant in Christ Blood, by choosing His priest
John.15: 16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
And empowering them with a portion of His own Godly Power [Mt.10-1-2] ad Jn 17:18; Jn 21:21, slo that HIS Catholic Priest are directed, commanded annd empowered to in HIS name, decide to forgive Confessed sins, or to if conditions warrant it; to refuse to forgive sins. Mt. 16:18-19 & John 20:19-23…
Hence we can have TRULY the inner peace that Christ twice wishes us in the passages of John 20:19-23; threw HIS Sacrament of Known forgiveness of mans sins.
The idea of Christ having ALREADY having done it “all”, for sin- forgiveness is a recent man made inn innovation, based on what Christ COULD have done, BUT did not choose to do.
1John.1 Verses 8 to 10 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
1John.5 Verses 16 to 17 "If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal.
[MEANING UNTO SPIRITUAL ETERNAL DEATH] There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.
John.20 Verses 20 to 23"On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again,
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."
As to your’e second question of Christ love for us:
**Rom.5: 8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
**
Then Jesus instituted HIS:
Only One TRUE GOD
Only One True FAITH
IN and THROUGH the ONLY Church that He founded, & FULLY guides and guards; today’s RCC {biblically and historically provable}
Mt 16:18-19 " [18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock[SINGULAR] I will build
MY CHURCH SINGULAR and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give TO THEE the [ALL OF THEM] keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever YOU shalt bind upon earth, it** shall be bound also in heaven**: and whatsoever YOU shalt loose upon earth,
it shall be loosed also in heaven.
Jn 17: 17-20 " [17] Sanctify THEM in truth. Thy word is truth. [18] As thou hast sent me into the world,I HAVE ALSO SENT THEM into the world. [19] And FOR THEM do I sanctify myself, THAT THEY also may be sanctified in truth. [20]
And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me;"
Mt 28: 18-20 "[18] And Jesus coming, spoke TO THEM [DIRECTLY AND EXCLUSIVELY], saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. [19] Going therefore, teach YOU all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded YOU: and behold I am with YOU all days, even to the consummation of the world… Amen!
God Bless you
