Do you have a certain time limit to complete your penance after confession?
There is none, but the penance must be completed within a reasonable time. A good rule of thumb is, “as soon as possible.”Do you have a certain time limit to complete your penance after confession?
Penance should be done as soon as possible but remember absolution is not conditional upon the penance being done. If you forget or even deliberately do not fulfill the penance you are still forgiven.Do you have a certain time limit to complete your penance after confession?
This is true, but unless I am mistaken to deliberately omit one’s pennance is itself a mortal sin (against obedience). Thus, the sin for which the pennance was given would be forgiven, but the penitent would be in the same boat as he or she was before!Penance should be done as soon as possible but remember absolution is not conditional upon the penance being done. Check with your priest. Deliberately not doing penance is not a mortal sin. This is true, but unless I am mistaken to deliberately omit one’s pennance is itself a mortal sin (against obedience).
