Time of Rosary

If you haven’t said the Rosary for the day yet and it’s past midnight into the next day (say, 12:10), will that Rosary still count for that day-or the now-previous day?

I personally consider a “day” to be from when I wake up to when I go to bed. Therefore, whether it’s 12:10 or 3 AM in the morning, I would consider praying the Rosary as counting, for example, for December 18th, 2011, even though we are “technically” now on December 19th.

That’s how I see it.

If you pray the rosary any time of day or night it will count - and it will count a lot - the sincerity of your prayer is all that matters,

I see no problem in it at all. Just pray the rosary. Do all that you can to pray it. Even if you miss a day it is the devotion to the rosary that counts not what time of day you pray it.

Praying the Holy Rosary is a highly commendable devotion. It is not of obligation. Therefore, I don’t think that you should be overly concerned if you are not able to recite it on a particular day. The intention to recite is what counts as much as reciting it. Sometimes you may not be able to recite it: life happens!

a day for you is from whenever you wake to whenever you go to bed. You can pray any mysteries on any day of the week when you are by yourself. there is no such thing as the rosary “counting” for something because you meditated on this or that mystery.

You know ive wondered that too.

Some people here may not understand that even though praying the Rosary is not an obligation, nonetheless you do it because you know the graces you receive for it, specially when u pray it everyday.

You have the 15 promises from our Mother for those who pray the rosary daily. And some saints have spoken of the importance of praying it daily. To some people it is irrelevant if you pray it everyday or not. But for those of you that think it is important to pray it everyday, to me it works this way:

From 12:00 AM on one day to 12:00 AM on the other. Why?
Because there needs to be some regulation on your part as to what is “everyday”. And you need to simply draw a line for yourself imo. For some it works “from the time I wake up in the morning till a go to bed at night”, and thats fine too. Because if you exceed 48hrs then u missed one that day. However if it happens, u can simply pray 2 the next day <_<

That’s what I was thinking actually.

Praying the Rosary is a good devotion. Sometimes you don’t get to it during the day (and there are nearly endless good reasons why). Mary’s not going to forget you.
 
I think this person is wondering for cases like the 54 day rosary. I have wondered about this as well, because I have said the fifty four day rosary novena.

I believe the same principles still apply. The intention and routine of prayer is more important than its exact timing. 🙂
