Why? How does the simultaneity of motion translate into variety? Unless you are talking about ontological motion for God? For God, it would be faster than instantaneous; but, its roll-out for us is not.Amazing isn’t it? And yet, that is just what I believe God is capable of. Otherwise, there would be no variegatedness in what you’d call “Heaven.”
I agree.I was merely trying to align the necessary conditions of death by hitching it to another word which necessitates death. You can do so with death and killing, but not with motion and time. This is because killing presupposes dying.
Coming to be? Do you think that might have something to do with the measuring equipment? The light switch turns on the movement of electricity, which perhaps takes 500 milliseconds. But, absolute ensoulment is quite possibly unmeasurable. In my opinion that instant doesn’t even exist. It is forged by the mind. Neuroscientists have capped it to about 500 milliseconds. How can anyone idolize a mere infinitesimal space and say it is the All??
From our individual points of view, we are free to postulate anything, including Godzilla!…And I say that view to time is inadequate. There is no reason to think motion cannot occur outside of time.
If it has to do with the physical, it is.Sure, it’s difficult to imagine, but not impossible.
Abstraction, which you may know as “reification,” is not the holding, in one’s mind, of an impossible concept, such as, a Godzilla monster greater in magnitude than the entire universe. It is the speciation of things that we perceive on the physical level. (It’s a bit different on the mathematical and metaphysical levels.) In the order of abstraction from the physical, the intellect, operating upon the data presented to it by our senses, dematerializes the data in order to make things intelligible, and leaves aside what we may call individual sensible matter but retains, in abstracted form, what is called common or universal sensible matter. We simply do not know enough, and cannot wrap our heads around something so abstract.
For example, upon initially pondering the hyena, men thought it to be in the dog family, because it had what appeared to be the properties of dog-ness. More recently, man has discovered that its properties more closely resemble those of the cat family. Tying the hyena to either of these animal families is the act of abstracting.
It is also the logical outcome from a dialectic as well. From logic, we know that things do not create themselves, despite the physicist’s ardent desire to prove that VIRTUAL particles can. If things created themselves, they would have had to pre-exist themselves. The majority of the rest of the world takes God to be a Creator. I think that is a mistake.
That is very similar to Gnostic theogony. The Gnostics postulated that there are two gods, the beneficent (good) one, and the evil (bad) one. Once again, logic proves the idea of two coexisting gods wrong.Go to India and you will find maybe a handful of temples (of the thousands) dedicated to the Creator. More important are the Preserver and Annihilator.
God bless,
