The presentation was 40 days after Jesus’ birth. The Magi is generally seen as being within two years after Jesus’ birth. Not sure where it happening before the presentation is coming from.

When the evidence is Scriptural and astronomical and there are multiple witnesses the evidence does become proof.
hmmmm… doesn’t have to be ‘astronomical’ at all …

Reason can bring one to Truth quickly…

Faith too…

The star of Bethlehem is very important to locating Jesus’ birth and the Catholic Church got the date exactly correct. Midnight Sunday December 25, 1 B.C. Julian. The was the winter solstice the longest night of the year. Four days later on the evening of Dec 29 the moon rose eclipsed at the horizon. A similar sign happened on Friday April 3, A.D. 33 the sun was dark from noon to 3PM when it is normally at its strongest. That evening the moon rose eclipsed on the horizon blood red. Peter on Pentecost (Acts 2:20) recalls this sign to his audience as a sign they witnessed as fulfilling Joel 2:31. See my article on the star of Bethlehem http://www.scripturescholar.com/VenusStarofBethlehem.pdf. there are many other “proofs” included there.

That’s fine and dandy perhaps - if that’s what’s very important to you!

as for me?

I’ve followed the movement
of the triple conjuction of Jiu-Piter and Saturn in the skies through months of several BC years

And… neat as it is? 🙂

It’s still far far far less weighty THAN when set upon the backdrop of Salvation Requirements.
