Has anyone written a Letter of Medical Necessity to an HMO insurance provider? I’m specifically looking for a letter that would show me how to ask to see a Napro Technology doctor for suspected endometriosis.
My main arguments are
My main arguments are
- I want to diagnose and treat the underlying causes rather than inhibiting the symptoms I experience. Birth control…which is the option I have always been given by non-Napro doctors…only suppresses my cycle in order to stop the symptoms. We want to get to pregnant; no cycles means no baby but endometriosis also has meant no baby for us.
- birth control is unhealthy for my body and I don’t believe it’s a valid treatment option, even though it’s extremely common “treatment”
I’m not sure where to begin my letter. Any thoughts?
Please respect that I am looking for help in writing the letter; I’m not looking for a debate about birth control.
