I am a closet catholic in a protestant household. I cannot presently go to Mass. This is rather vague but any tips you give me I will be great-full for; Do you have any tips on how I can keep and practice the faith on my own?

Ever heard of Catholic Answers Forums?😛
But,seriously. My answer depends on your age.If you are a dependent still living under your parents roof,I say to honor your Father and Mother. Then, when you move out go to RCIA.Otherwise,I don’t see the problem.
Maybe you could even test the waters by innocently bringing up the subject of what the Pope says about the environment.Just to see if they respect Him or not.If the answer is favorable, they might let you attend Mass.

🤷

I am assuming you are under the age of majority. My advise, assuming I am right … obey your parents. IF when you get out on your own, you still want to be Catholic, we definatly want you. We will give you all the support at our disposal. But if you are living under someone else’s roof they may have rules. And age makes no difference.

I will never suggest going aginst your patrents if under 18 & I will caution aginst it if above 18 & still under their roof.

You’ve obviously got access to Internet, so I strongly recommend using it. 😛 You can learn so much from websites like this one. Surprisingly, YouTube was actually a big factor in my reverting back to the Church. It sounds odd, but there are some really cool Catholics that do great videos there. 👍

And if you can, I’d check out books from the library such as the Catechism (either the big ol’ Compendium or the Baltimore Catechism, both are great tools IMO) and books about the faith. That’ll make RCIA and getting initiated into the sacraments a breeze for you.

Sorry, something went wrong. I posted a reply but all that got on screen was my smilie.

Talk to you later, Lead me home.

I agree. We need a little more information. In my particular case, I was a married woman with two children. My husband was very upset about the thought of me returning to the Catholic church. He stated that he throught it was the end of our marriage. Now, he goes with me about half the time and to his protestant church half the time. He has even made mention that he feels “closer to God” in the Catholic church. If you are a minor, however, you should obey your parents until you are of the age of consent.

Good luck. I will pray for your situation.:signofcross: :blessyou:
