This is random–but one reason I am tired of being single is because I love to cook but it is no fun eating alone. I have friends over for dinner often, and they return the favor which is nice, but I wish I had someone to cook for and share meals with every day.

Sincerely,

Hmm. Perhaps in the meantime you could find a way to cook for those less fortunate. I don’t know how this would be done, (andt I hope that you do get married someday) but while you’re waiting, perhaps you can help others.

Personaly I am tired of the seemingly endless parade of losers that I am attracting.

Y’know, I’m not so sure that I myself am tired of being single so much as I’m tired of being alone, if that makes any sense. I don’t have a job right now, so I sort of understand that no woman’s going to be exactly rushing to my side, but still…I don’t know many Catholics my age in my area who are as interested in the Faith as I am, even as far as liking to talk about it, and from a brief time in Seminary I’ve learned that people often come and go in life, even if you remain long-distance friends. Part of what’s so appealing about finding Ms. Right is that she would be someone who wouldn’t just come and go, someone reliable, so that we would always have each other and (later on) our children…and not have to feel quite so alone in our Catholic Faith. Maybe part of this for me comes from being a convert in the Bible-belt? 🤷

Either way, I’m definitely tired of being alone, whatever that means about being single, and would gladly welcome a warm, devout Catholic lady into my life, first as friends–she’d probably not want it to go any further anyway 'til I get a good job 😃 --then more if it developes to it. Doesn’t sound too bad at all. 😛

Blessings in Christ,
KindredSoul

So, you know what I feel when I pass a flower stall then. 😉

Please try to lighten up a bit and unload at least some of the negative emotions for starters? 😉 Those men may be inadequate candidates for you and perhaps even inadequate in a broader sense, but it’s not worth calling them names. 🙂

👍

I’ve attracted some women who where-less than enthralling, but if I called them names, what would that make me?

Flower stall? lol, I feel ridiculous asking this, but whats a flower stall? Are you a flower grower??

If so I’m really peeved now! what the heck? a male gardener?! The ONE thing I could NEVER do was garden! My mom…my grandma…all gardeners…

I, on the other hand, couldnt grow a CHIA pet to save my LIFE! LOL

Nah, just a person selling flowers off the street or a tiny shop set up in the market. American isn’t my default English dialect, so occasionally I may be a bit difficult to understand.

Now I’m really confused…so…‘how’ do you feel when you pass these flower stands? The other poster said she was sad or something and your like, ‘now you know how I feel when I pass by’

Do you have some deep seeded desire to share in flower selling??!?

Am I just all lost? LMBO!

Sorry if a guy treats you like **** the he’s a loser. Same thing if a girl does it.
👍
You may be right, but I’d like to think name calling is little 3rd gradeish. I prefer to just say good bye to them and move on.

Being lonely cooking is to wanting to cook for someone as nostalgically passing a flower stall is to wanting to buy someone a flower. 😉

I could not agree more:thumbsup:

I would not call them losers if I had not been used or abused by them in one form or another, but since I was they are losers.

Oh I GET it!! OH how cute you are!! awwwwww…in the adorable, wants to buy a flower for a girl kinda way…Thats very thoughtful of you.

‘Thoughtfulness’ I think, is what a lot of men are lacking these days. For instance, my ex, he wasnt ‘romantic’…and that was cool…I never expected candlelight dinner, night out on the town…

But you know? A flower…or…a well picked out card…that would have touched my heart so deeply…I never get stuff like that…🤷

I work for Hallmark, so I’m forever with these cards…and sometimes, even now I’ll read one that catches my eye. Sometimes I see a man come in, go to the anniversary section and what have you…and sometimes the guy will just grab one that says ‘wife’ and then leave…

Sometimes, I’ll see a guy stand there for like 10 minutes…read each one…and then choose one…The thought makes me wanna cry :crying:

It’s my impression that, while appreciated, such things generally lead to getting friended. Doesn’t mean I’ll stop, contrary, the opposite of it.

My last Miss Almost would say, “you had so many things on your head and all this and you still thought to get a flower for me,” which wouldn’t prevent her from talking about boorish conduct because I wasn’t thoughtful enough to think how honest answers to her prying questions about my family might have affected her (where I had asked why she was asking and she insisted it was sheer curiosity)… or my insufficiently cotton-wrapped reaction to her stupid jealousy-inspiring joke… I didn’t think how it would make her feel, no matter how her joke had already made me feel or how drilling a hole in my head and using words of that caliber would affect me when she accused me of… lack of thoughtfulness. Where’s justice?

I’m pretty convinced that if I had been shrewder and sterner with her, and more “showing her her place” as opposed to “princess treatment”, there’d have been no issue.

And I’d rather die single than cater to that kind of tendency.

I wouldn’t have thought of it on my own, but I can imagine. 😦

At the risk of sounding ‘sexiest’ I’m going to go out on a limb here and state my humble opinion.

If any girls are thinking like this, they should get their heads examined. IMHO- a woman should already know her place, a man shouldnt have to ‘show them’. And if a female cant appreciate or accept a man treating them with respect, love, or ‘like a princess’ then they have some relationship issues that may have stemmed from - I dont know what.

I know myself, I had been in abusive relationships, and if a guy WASNT mean to me, or jealous of me, then I felt like it wasnt real. I felt like, if he wasnt jealous, then he didnt care. I felt like if we didnt fight all the time, it wasn’t a ‘real’ relationship.

How frekn backwards is that??? Could it be because in my life all the women around me, including my Mom have all been in abusive relationships, so that is what I know them to be and true?

Most likely so.

Lucky for me I found a man who changed my outlook. Real love is NOT pain and jealousy…real love is supportive & thoughtful. Her loss, IMHO.

Chevalier–I thought your post about passing a flower stall was really sweet. That is just the feeling I meant about feeling lonely or like something is missing when I am cooking.

Last summer I started growing vegetables in containers and pots on my balcony. This year I am doing the same thing. Every day I come home from work and look outside and it is fun to see how much the plants have grown. And even though it is early some of my strawberry plants have flowers on them. It is the little daily joys like that when I wish I had someone to share those moments with.

I know I need to get out more but it is challenging. My job has demanding hours. And a lot of the activities I enjoy, like cycling and kayaking are sports that are often done solo.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

I mean this in the nicest possible way.
If we’re not attracting the right people is there something wrong or a very good reason why that is happening.

Have you-all thought of adopting a child or a teenager? www.adoptuskids.org.

“You don’t have to be perfect to be a perfect parent. There are thousands of teens in foster care who would love to put up with you.”

I realize a child is not the same as a husband. But there are many kids who would love to have someone care what happens to them. Seems a shame that many of us (me included previously) are lonely, while foster kids are hurting for a family.
