Go easy on slinging around the Corps’ good name - obviously that is not official USMC policy nor is it a view endorsed by the many Marines I know - I am a wife of a long-time member of the larger Naval Service. Painting the Marine Corps with such a broad brush of throughtless intolerance leaves the impression that they really believe what the bumper sticker says and can give an unknowing public a false impression.

I don’t understand what any of this thread is supposed to prove, that we are not forgiving, perhaps?

Or that some of us only come to attack other religions?

Sorry for the slow response DOSDOG - took a week off for some swimming and fun at the beach with my Episcopalian family.🙂

I congratulate you on surviving a tour at GTMO - my DH hates that place and only spent short nights there during refresher training and counter-narcotics operations. I still am uncomfortable associating your Jihad comment with the Marines. Despite what some of us might personally believe, we both know that the USMC would never advocate a Jihad, and that even the implication of their support for a Jihad would be believed by some of the gullible knuckleheads looking for bad press for the military. To link the Marines to Jihad, even in jest, risks putting the Marine Corps in a bad light with many members of the general public.
