On Holy Thursday morning in my sister’s home in Florida, my mother passed away. She was 93, had a wonderful life, and died surrounded by love in her home.

On Holy Saturday, you may have heard the news, but a retired professional football player accidentally ran over his three year old daughter and killed her. This made national news. I couldn’t get him and his wife and remaining children out of my mind at the Easter Vigil Mass. I can only imagine the agony he is going thru.

On Easter Sunday night, a young man who is the nearest to a son i will ever have, was killed in a one car accident driving home from an Easter Service. They are my family, I am their adopted uncle, even having sponsored their daughter for confirmation. The family is devastated.

It has been a trying Easter season for me. I am fine, I am convinced all are with the lord and spent probably the greatest Easter ever in the presence of God. But to be honest, I am tired of answering the phone. So, I ask your prayers for the three persons I’ve mentioned, and the families that they find peace and resolution in the days to come

Thank you.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto them Oh Lord , and may Perpetual light shine on them.
May they rest in Peace. Amen

My dearest Lord and Savior, in this time of the celebration of Your resurrection may we know the joy of reunion with You as well as we feel the sorrow for those departed from us, from this beautiful creation. Oh Lord, through tragic death carry us, those who remain, those who are most affected. Blessed Mother of the Pieta, who held Jesus’ crucified body, may your surety of God’s love pour upon us in our sorrow. May we, who are among the sorrowful, receive the grace for ourselves and to share with others, without words, our unity with them in times of trouble, a living presence of the eternal Body of Christ. Amen.

Praying for you and all who are suffering the loss of a loved one.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.
