I’m trying to read all of this and am having a hard time getting through all of it.
Let me just say one thing, though. I say the Apostles’ Creed all the time with no conflict.
There are some people, who, when they come to the phrase “one holy, catholic, and apostolic” use the lower case “c” meaning “universal” and not referring solely to the Roman Catholic (upper case “C”) Church.
I don’t know if I’m right or not. This is a matter for prayer.
But, the Apostles’ Creed **can **be something all Christians could possibly agree on.
But, in case I am wrong, I will continue to read it, believe it, and most of all PRAY about it.
Oh, and most of the time in my church (Episcopal if you haven’t caught it yet) we say the Nicene Creed instead of the Apostles’ Creed. I remember reading somewhere that the Nicene Creed was written to address a specific heresy about Jesus which was going around at the time it was written, but I can’t remember what that was. I think it was about His humanity or His divinity, I don’t remember.
But, I DO believe Christ died for my sins and that only way to the Father is through Him.
