Is this a rhetorical question or a cry for help?

Prayer is the best way to start since Jesus is always there to help.

What seems to be your problem?

James

Reach out and help others, and people will notice. They will feel guilt for not helping you. Don’t be afraid of ridicule. Step forward. Carpe Vita.

I do pray…I have been close to wanting to die. And this is how God began to come in my life…he called me, God called me. I have been learning more and more each day. I need help with starting a new life. I have to stay out of the darkness. I need to get out of my situation with spouse. A new life for child and I is what I need.

Then again, reach out. The best way to make yourself happy is to make others happy. There is nothing like the expression of humble thanks on someone’s face after you help them.

You are right…and yes…this is what my heart (which is God) been telling my mind.

Thank you…wise one

I am going to copy this prayer and take it to my church tonight!
Free the Souls in Purgatory

http://www.ourladyswarriors.org/images/purgator.jpgEternal Father,
I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the Universal Church,
those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

I don’t really know your situation, but my prayers are with you. It’s never easy when we are suffering, but sometimes suffering is a blessing in disguise.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life? (Mt 16:24-26)

I hesitate to suggest this, but I feel compelled to for some reason (so take it for what it’s worth). Maybe God’s plan is not what you are expecting.

Maybe God is asking you to suffer for the salvation of your entire family. God called us to be a light to the world and He dispels the darkness through us.

To the rest I say (not the Lord): if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she is willing to go on living with him, he should not divorce her; and if any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he is willing to go on living with her, she should not divorce her husband. For the unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy through the brother. Otherwise your children would be unclean, whereas in fact they are holy. If the unbeliever separates, however, let him separate. The brother or sister is not bound in such cases; God has called you to peace. For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband; or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife? (1 Cor 7:12-16)

But, I don’t know your situation and God’s will for you. Keep praying for help and your prayers will be answered (In God’s way and time).

God Bless

Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus says"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Take solace in the fact that there have been a lot of people all through history who have been in your situation - what ever it precisely may be. It sounds like a combination of relational issues and feelings of helplessness. The generic formula that seems to work here is to break the feelings of entrapment and helplessness - go help others at your church or in your community and get your mind off things. Also go get some counseling - you need advocacy and a friend for moral support. There are lots of “help groups” and special needs ministries in most parishes. Call the rectory and ask for some assistance and advice - that’s what they are there for.

Don’t automatically jump to the conclusion that “if you can just escape your bad spouse” things will get better or something like that. You need to be realistic. The truth is most everyone is hurting to some degree these days - especially in these troubling economic times. Stress can really hurt everyone and bring out the worst in other. You probably need to get both you and your spouse into counseling together.

Good Luck - it sounds like you are getting lots of spiritual support and prayers here - expect changes but also go try to do something proactively and find some positive things you can focus on. Try to gain small daily little victories and things you can point to as accomplishments to nourish hope rather than try to solve it all in one big motion. St. Therese of the Little Flower used this approach to her spirituality and ended becoming a saint and a doctor of the Church!

God Bless you
