Titus 1 - in the hope of eternal life

In Titus 1, Paul writes, "Paul, a slave of God and Apostle of Jesus Christ for the sake of the faith of God’s chosen ones and the recognition of religious truth, in the hope of eternal life

How do Protestants interpret this statement? If Paul, was “saved” by faith alone wouldn’t he say something like in the knowledge of or guarantee of ?
 
As an aside… Going through the Epistles right now to look at the issue of faith alone and OSAS… already at like 100 similar verses of varying degree (some more direct than others) that have the same question…
