Does anyone know if there are any TLMs in the Belleville (IL) diocese - other than Cahokia? Doing some traveling this weekend.

Thanks

We just moved to that area, afraid all I can do is give you the phone number of the diocese. 618-277-8181

The bishop usually says the mass a couple of times a month at the 10:30 mass at the cathedral in downtown Belleville. He is very good.

I live in Belleville and am a member of St. Francis de Sales in St. Louis - only about 20-25 minutes away. I’ve also assisted at the weekly TLM at the Cahokia parish…very nice there as well, very interesting antique small log-cabin church - here are some pictures.

According to a summer letter from the Belleville bishop, the only other one would be in DuQuoin on the third Sunday of the month. Haven’t been there:
"…Here in the Diocese of Belleville this need is already being met by the weekly celebration of the Latin Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Log Church of Holy Family Parish in Cahokia and the Latin Mass at 11:00a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in DuQuoin on the third Sunday of the month. A fuller celebration of the “extraordinary” form of the Roman Rite in Latin is also available daily at St. Francis De Sales Church in nearby St. Louis, which is dedicated to preserving the Latin Liturgy… "

Our Lady of the Snow Shrine is a must see in the evening. Over a million lights every evening until January 6th.

Duquoin is about 100 miles from Belleville. Might be too far away.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Du Quoin, Illinois has had a monthly TLM for years and years before the Moto Proprio was promulgated.

Msgr. Harry Jerome offers the Mass once per month. I’ve been to it and have been fortunate to have him marry my wife and I.

It’s not too far from Belleville either.

While I haven’t been to a TLM there, Du Quoin is just a nice place!!! Anybody who lives in Clinton, Perry, Randolph or Franklin County should think about viisiting there.
