I will be moving to Central Florida in the Spring-God willing and my house sells-and I’m wondering where I can find a Latin Mass to attend. I’m likely to be going to the Clermont area. I know that there are some chapels that do not respect the authority of the Pope and that’s not for me.

Here are the pre-MP TLM’s in Florida (there may be more now).

The two in the Orlando diocese may be close enough for you. St. Theresa’s in Spring Hill may also be in driving distance. I used to go to the one at the Cathedral in St. Petersburg which was really great, but that’s probably too far.

Thanks! Looks like Sanford is the closest, and that’s not really that close! I hope that there are more coming since MP.

Sanford is the only options thus far. I’d recommend the SSPX. I can’t vouch personally for what goes on down “the other part of town.” I have nothing to hide and have heard of abuses going on at All Souls and I personally witnessed many questionable acts the priest did during several Novus Ordo Masses, e.g. handing out candy during Mass, various heresies in sermons, etc. No photos, but I post by my real name so it’s not I’m some annonymous person posting non sense. Just my $0.02 if you will.

Many lists include a Mass at Winter Haven. Please note there is no Mass there as the priest offering there is sick and no one is offering it. Supposidly the bishop was going to find a replacement/fill in, but that has not been the case as of today it seems. Other lists include numerous “independant Catholic” chapels, but please note many (though not all) of these chapels are of Old Catholic sects or outright “priests” of questionable, if not outright invalid lines, e.g. OSJ. As well, Ocala, FL confirmed to me it will have the TLM — no details yet according to what they have posted in the bulletin, but this was an interesting quote from the pastor this past weekend;

“In case you haven’t noticed, I try not to say God
anymore. I say, Our Lord. When people say God these days
I often find myself thinking, I don’t believe in that God of
yours.”

That’s all I have. I have contacted a number of parishes in the area and Ocala is the only addition I could find (for those who were kind enough to at least e-mail me back, maybe if I’d ask for Taize prayer/Charismatic Mass as the bishop had today in a hotel and an ecumenical disco night, I’d get a response?). Oh well. Orlando is spiritually bankrupt, so it will take a while for the fight against Modernism to triumph. But there are folks out there opening their eyes to what is going on, so slowly but surely we’ll get there even if it happens by the time I’m six feet under.
