I was wondering if anyone knew of any details of the TLM coming to the city of Charlotte, NC. i realize there are a few places in the diocese where this is available but alas not in the city. I have been unable to discover the mood of our Bishop Jugis in regards to the Motu Propio (sic) but prayerfully hope that it will soon be available as I am sure there is a population of parishioners to support it. Does anyone know of a petition to get this going in the city or would they like to start creating a “stable group of parishioners”. Thank you. Happy Easter!

His Excellency Bishop Jugis had announced in December that 10 priests were “training” to be able to offer the EF of the Mass. A wonderful EF Mass was held in Greensboro as a demonstration for these priests, but none of them apparently were able to attend.

In the announcement, folks were told to contact their Vicar Forane to determine where Masses would be offered, but never said who the Vicar Forane are.

Fortunately, this article came out which listed the Vicar Forane for Charlotte…

After contacting his office, I was told that two parishes in Charlotte or around will be offering the EF of Masses “sometime in the future” as the priests are “practicing”.

The two parishes are St. Anne’s in Charlotte and St. Michael’s in Gastonia.

I pray that their practice will end soon so that we can assist in the licit fruits of the EF here again.

I just do not understand why His Excellency is keeping this such a “secret”… unless they want to make sure everything is in place before they publicize it better.

I would love to get the Una Voce Charlotte chapter more active, but I cannot seem to find who the leaders are.

God Bless.

I certainly hope the TLM will be a regular in the Charlotte & Gastonia areas. I know some people who won’t go to anything else so are going to sspx but would very much like to be in communion with Rome.👍

I am glad this question was asked because I have been wondering the same.

I know, for one, that my own parish priest has stated that he would rather not get involved with Latin Mass, which is a shame, really.

Glad to hear about the EF masses. I prefer the NO but I have friends that won’t go to anything except an EF.

I am wondering …What is the Una Voce and MEF. as a convert, I’m still learning.😃

MEF stands for Mass in the Extraordinary form (Tridentine). Una Voce is a group who promtes the use of the Latin Mass.

I, too, would like to know, (for sure) who is the Una Voce. I have “heard” ,and that’s just a rumor, that it was started by the SSPX.

There is so much out there about this division in our church, you really don’t know what or who to believe.

Anyone know the answer?🙂
