I am so excited to hear this! I have strong ties to Latrobe and am there quite often during the year! 🙂

How cool! I have family in Greensburg and my father grew up there. What great news!

Jesus, God and man,
imprisoned by love in Thy most holy Sacrament,
have mercy upon us.
  • Blessed John Henry Newman, December 22, 1851
… Our Lord Himself frequently said; and it is recorded as an Apostolic tradition from Him
by St. Justin the Martyr. He says ‘Jesus often said, “They who are near Me are near a fire”’.
  • Abp. W. B. Ullathorne, August 1st 1886

I can’t remember who wrote it and I’ll take the liberty of para-phrasing it a little…Tradition is not about looking back, but handing it foreward. It is up to those of us who understand what is happening to support the efforts of Father Mahoney and help hand on this most blessed form of the Traditional Latin Mass. “Extra Ordinary” you betcha! 😃

The Faithful in and around Greenburg should be thankful for this blessed event. 👍

If you follow the Latin mass carefully by reading the English translation it’s like praying the mass. Most of those who do this find that the beautiful poetic like language adds to the spiritual impact of the experience…

…‘I will go the the alter of God; to God who gives joy to my youth’…

I pray it will get great support and bring many back to church.

Fr, Murus will celebrate the TLM at 10:30 Wed morning at St. Vincents in the crypt. Dec 26th.🙂

Update on Latin Mass at Holy Family Latrobe, Pa.: Attendance has slowed during the past weeks of Summer. Various reasons I’m sure, not to mention the 2:00 p.m. stating time! We have regular attendance from 35 to 60. We sure could use more support! We surely would love to have our own morning mass time that is enjoyed by so many Catholics in the Diocese’s of Greensburg. The mix is encouraging, however, young, old and families. I have no doubt that attendance would triple or quadruple if we had an 8,9, or 10:00 a.m starting time. Please pray that the hearts and minds of the “powers that be” would be opened and grant equality of time and space to those who’s minds and hearts are drawn to this beautiful Liturgy!:crossrc:

About five hours away from me. I wish it was closer 😦 Still, great news.
