Greetings,

My fiance and I will be married in July 2009. We are looking to see where we can find a devout Tridentine parsh that’s in full communion with rome. We will be living in Winnipeg, Canada for the first little while, but eventualy we want to move somewhere that has a TLM parish. So far, we have not been successfull in finding a priest in Winnipeg who is willing to offer our wedding mass according to missal of 1962; but aside from that, we very much want to attend the TLM regularely after we’re married and we don’t think it’s going to happen in Winnipeg… any suggestions and/or thoughts would be appreciated.

Dominus Vobiscum,
Rocco

I find the TML being celebrated in Canada but not in Winnipeg at this time:( sorry.

How far do you want to move? Do you want to stay in Canada? Are there any particular spots you would like to live near?

cam100,

It’s hard to say if/when/where we’ll move… I think that’s going to depend alot on our financial situation after we’re married and how easy it will be for us to find work wherever we may want to move… Staying in Canada would be great because of our health care coverage and what not. I haven’t thought alot about any particular spots to live near. To me what matters is that it’s safe and that the parish is devout.

Maybe try to find any stabile group in your region and send pettion to your local pastor or ordinary for a regular Traditional services?

You need to start talking to others in the parish and find out if other want to celebrate the Tridentine Mass if so talk to the Priest. Pope Benedict has stated that any priest that has been trained on the TML may celebrate it when requested.

oneGodoneChurch,

Indeed, we’ve gone to two priests in Winnipeg about this, and they both declinded our request for they’re own particular reasons 🤷 . Lately I’ve been thinking about talking to our bishop to see if/how he could help us, though to be honest, I don’t feel confident in him doing so. Another avenue we’ve thought of is talking to a local group that organizes a yearly Marian conference in Winnipeg. If we could setup a booth to promote the TLM, we could very well have enough people to convince our bishop to setup a TLM on a weekly basis 👍 .

Of course we cant forget the will of God in all of this. If it is in His will, itll happen… if not, it won`t.

Pax Vobiscum,
Rocco

Amen. I will say a prayer. I am sure that you are not alone in your parish an if enough people ask maybe together the priest will do it.

God bless and good luck.
