TLM results in Lutheran clergyman's conversion

I know when I began assisting at the TLM it was a major factor in me actually learning and practicing my Faith. I know of several people (Catholic & non-Catholic) who’ve had conversion experiences as a result of assisting at the TLM.

Have others of you experienced the same thing or know of others who have had this experience?

The interesting thing to me is the fact that this Lutheran clergyman writes that he had watched many NO Masses on EWTN for 20 years but it was after viewing one TLM that he decided to convert.
 
A Lutheran clergyman who was in the habit of watching Mass on EWTN for 20 years was probably pretty close to conversion already. The Mass faithfully celebrated in any form approved by Rome is perfect. Be careful you don’t become a cafeteria Catholic when it comes to Mass form. IMO some people on this forum are so critical of the NO it borders on denigration of the Mass.

i prefer the TLM. that is not to say i dont like the NO Mass. i just like to go to the TLM on Sundays. but i get more out of the TLM. i would not say that if i could not find a TLM i would not go to Mass, i wholeheartedly believe that the NO is every bit as valid and licit as the TLM, but as I have said on the preference front i like the TLM.
 
Don’t forget the Agatha Christie Indult, which probably converted many non-Catholics to Catholicism.
 
I don’t like the EF(TLM) and I attend the OF(NO) Mass, as it is much more practical for me to do so. The nearest EF Mass is about an hour away and I can walk to my local parish. I think the EF Mass is much harder and takes some getting used to.

Yet this is because I am human, I enjoy certain things and will often seek the what is more pleasing to me.

That being said and I fully accept the Ordinary Form Mass as completely valid when said faithfully, every Catholic should affirm that the EF Mass more strongly expresses the faith as it is well developed in the expression of the Catholic faith. Since the Ordinary Mass was just developed a few decades ago it does not have the built in respect and significance in the expression of the Catholic faith. I can certainly say that the EF Mass is an expression of what we believe in how it is done, and the ambiguities of the Ordinary Mass can lead to abuses, so much so that many faithful Catholics are scandalized by a horizontal expression of self worship.

The beauty of the TLM and the strength of expression of the Catholic faith, leads to a conversion of hearts and minds, so it is only natural for people who seek fidelity to Jesus convert when presented with the TLM.

We must also remember that these days many people are attached to a more superficial faith, as was I when I came back to the faith. I enjoyed the similarities of the OF Mass to Protestant worship until I started learning about the Catholic faith. We must use sensitivity so as not to scandalize those more attached to the OF Mass, many have a very emotional faith that is easily scandalized.

Now that I know more about the faith if there was a EF Mass within a reasonable distance I would attend it, except I would be then rejected from any influence for good at my parish. So I am conflicted,I am faithful to my parish but I worry about my family and their exposure to rampant heresy in my personal parish. (that is for another thread) Maybe I should start a thread on that.
