Is the Sequence that is recited/sung before the gospel on particular feast days in the Tridentine Mass optional?

The Sequence is required on the feast day itself (or, in the case of Easter and Pentecost- throguh the Octave) but is omitted in Votive Masses. With regard to the Dies Irae, it is required for funeral Masses and the principal Mass of All Souls. At other Requiem Masses it is optional.
