I know its probably not the best to go around asking “whats your opinion on x atheist” but this guy genuinely makes solid claims.
I realize he does make a couple of mistakes, like thinking that God tells us what is good instead of being the actual good, but some of his arguments I don’t have an idea how to counter. Thoughts on a couple of these?

I am particularly interested in this argument:

since Trent Horn tends to use this argument a lot.

The narrator in the last video is simply wrong on a number of fronts.

First of all, by the ‘Kingdom of God,’ Jesus meant the kingdom as prophesied by Daniel that would displace the Roman Empire - I.e., the Catholic Church is the Kingdom of God on earth. Jesus continually said, “…the kingdom is upon you.” Since the Church began at Pentecost 50 days after Jesus’ death, there were indeed many standing there who lived to see the coming of the kingdom.

Secondly, when Jesus predicts the destruction of the Temple and his second coming in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew, he is answering two distinct questions from the disciples.
  1. When will these things (destruction of the Temple) take place?
  2. When will the Parousia or second coming occur?
All of the signs Jesus speaks about refer to the destruction of the Temple. And that occurred in 70 AD almost exactly forty years (one generation to the ancient Jew/Greek mindset) after Jesus’ ministry.

Jesus answers the second question with the clear statement that no one knows the day or hour except the Father.

How could Jesus state categorically that some standing here would not taste death before he returned when only the Father knew the day and hour?

Brant Pitre has done a lot of good work parsing the prophecies of Jesus and their relationship to the prophesies of Daniel in his series of lectures called Jesus and the End Times.

Also, this is a good intro into what Jesus was talking about when he referred to the Kingdom of God:

Thank you so much for taking your time ! Very well explained. I will remove the video since the question was answered well, and it was just a side thing anyway. But thanks a lot anyway (^ __ ^)
