This question is for all the new Catholics recieved into the church at Easter (but of course everyone is welcome to respond too!).

I just wondered what your favorite thing is about the Church (whether it was something you could do before you were confirmed or something that you can now do)?

Personally, I have several favorites, I love being able to receive the Eucharist (I try to go to Mass everyday b/c I can’t get enough!), I love being in the presence of our Lord either in the Tabernacle or at Adoration, and I love praying the Rosary!

Those are only a handful of what I love about the Church but I just wondered what everyone else loves!👍

I also love being able to take Holy Communion now. Its a great feeling!! I also just love being there inside the church…wether I am just sitting in a pew…or praying…Just being there and knowing where I am…I just don’t know how to describe it in words. My parish also has an amazing choir…I love listening to them every week.

I love the Mass. I sit each Sunday and consider that I where God wants me to be finally!! God’s plan for my life??? To live the sacramental life.

Mass is probably my favorite thing! I love going to daily Mass and when I can’t go on Tuesdays I can hardly stand it. I was talking to Father after Mass today and he said he was glad that I have been coming. I just felt all warm & fuzzy! 😛

Seriously, I really love the Mass. When I can go in the mornings before work it makes my whole day better!

The Mass, the rosary, and the culture. I love the mass because we meet Jesus and recieve him in the Eucharist. The Rosary because it’s so relaxing and helps me keep my mind on Jesus throughout the day. The culture because it’s fun to have specific ‘Catholic’ things that pervade our life, help us connect with one another, and give us intro’s into evangelization.

I love being able to take communion!!! After my first communion at the Vigil, I just felt sooo peaceful. It’s wonderful! Also, I love the Mass. When I first started attending I thought the structure was a little odd b/c I came from a very modern, casual non-demon church. Now I love the liturgy and I love attending Mass. Plus there are all the traditions to learn about. I love being Catholic (even if I’ve only been Catholic for about two weeks 😃 ) !

The Eucharist, and closely following it, the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

I read this thing recently about what Jesus said to Sister Faustina, that Jesus really is saddened by how people take Communion without even thinking about Him much…

When i say to heck with my worries and concerns and just focus on what i am doing @ Communion, i have wonderful experiences (of great Love and Peace…🙂 . When i let my distractions rule me, i lose…

All Jesus cares about is us getting to Heaven. He couldn’t care less about how much $ we make or whatever… But WE care… We idolize… it’s human nature…

Anyway, my favorite thing is the Mass and the Real Presence.

I love to go be with Jesus, especially at the Exposed Sacrament… When there, I let go, let my mind/heart go black and let Jesus take over. He heals me, both in mind, heart, soul, AND body 🙂 . I believe this is one reason, if not THE reason Catholics live longer than Protestants - they “ingest” Christ… and they get healed in His Real Presence. I went there some time ago, not feeling that anything in particular was wrong, no serious sin, no great need 4 physical healing… found out I was WRONG (!!) on both counts…

It is scary how wrong we can be… Yet, He corrects, in a powerful and wonderful way, our “wrong-ness”… 🙂

Thanks for asking. It was a healing thing just writing about/thinking about this… 🙂 God bless… :clapping: :bowdown2: :highprayer:

The Catholic church is NOT all about money and building new buildings.

I’ve heard unbelievable Protestant horror stories like reporting their congregants to credit rating agencies for not tithing 10%.

There’s much more than that, but those are the surface things that would turn me away in NY second.

Can I join this thread even though I am a cradle Catholic? 😃

My first half of my life- 15 years old - I went to church daily, I hardly miss any mass unless I was sick.

The second was very bad - as soon as I came to the US, I would only go to Sunday Mass; thus, my faith was fading. Without me noticing it, I was in a big mess.

A year ago, God hit me with something that I consider as a “Lightning bolt”. I am back to my daily mass and I can’t get enough of His Body and Blood. I also love the homily that my pastor gives - it is always awesome!

Praise the Lord and thank you all for your sharing of faith in Him.

As many have said already…I LOVE the eucharist. There is something so peaceful and magical and wonderful about literally taking God into your body. It centers my week and reminds me that no matter what happens…he is there. Second, I love the feeling of belonging. I love the consistency of it all, too. I love how I will hear the same things and do the same things no matter where I go to church. (as long as it’s Catholic, of course.) Finally, I love the black and white nature of the church. They know what they believe and why.

As others have posted, receiving the Eucharist is by far tops.

One minor thing I’ve noticed, I now feel much more welcome & that I truly belong. I’ve been going to Mass for 20 years with my wife before I converted. Although I was always warmly welcomed by the congregation, it seemed unsubstantial. Now I have personal relationships with the 3 priests and several of our deacons, and many members of the laity, all thanks to RCIA. Even several of the ushers now know me by name & stop to chat. The new friendships & warmth have truly made me feel like a valued, welcomed family member in our very huge congregation.

Our Church makes a big deal about knowing & welcoming the newly confirmed RCIA candidates, even has our pictures posted in the larynx. At first I was rather embarrassed, preferring to stay anonymous, but I now see the benefit!

Mass, the Holy Eucharist, Confession, and praying the Divine Chaplet.
I feel like I’ve been welcomed into the largest “club” in the world. To be part of the Catholic Church has been the biggest privilege of my entire life. I couldn’t be happier! Now I am praying for the conversion of my family.

Wow - that’s bad - the tithing thing!!

Now i am interested in the “much more than that” part. 😃

You converts really seem 2 appreciate the Church…
Those who have been Catholic all their lives are often in need of your enthusiasm…
I am cradle Catholic but went away for a time:eek: , so in a way, i am a convert - revert-… Things havne’t been perfect, but @ least i am on the right track… 🙂 @ least i now know about the Blessed Sacrament… i was Catholic all my life but didn’t know about that until maybe 6 years ago… 😦

Now please don’t take this wrong, but I’ve noted quite a few cradle Catholics seem to have either mistaken or misunderstood some basic fundamentals of the religion. As an example, my cradle catholic wife assumed the immaculate conception was the virgin pregnancy. Another friend thought the wine & cracker was symbolic, didn’t realize transubstantiation concepts.

I have much knowledge to learn, part of the reason I’m on this forum. But I’m learning some of my best, and often only sources for wisdom besides the ordained are the Bible & CC.

Again, please don’t misunderstand, just some recent personal observations.

One of the sponsors in RCIA said that too. Mine actually ended up reading Rome Sweet Home and said it completely revived her faith and she was so glad she got to be a sponsor.

I, personally, just can’t get enough of my faith now. That’s something I’ve NEVER felt in any church. I’m excited to get up every morning and go to Daily Mass. I never was a morning person before. I want to get involved in everything I can at church too. On the one day that I can’t go to Mass on Tues. b/c of work, my day just isn’t the same. We’re having 1st Friday and 1st Saturday Adoration this week and I’m so excited about that too. I’ve been to Adoration before but this will be my 1st time as a full-fledged Catholic!!! I’m just excited about everything!!!

I learned more from my girlfriend, who got baptized 2 years ago, in the last 2 years than my entire life. I am grateful that God use simple instrument like my g/f to help my faith.

You are doing great, AngelRose.
