my atheist parents tell me money is most important. do everything to obtain money. and there’re so called atheist sexologists go to great lengths to prove how fornification and adultery improves women’s social position and the enjoyment of sexual intercourse.

I hope these are not answers from good atheists. and I need enlightment in this issue.
I suppose they go to bed at night and thank God they are atheists

Will somebody mention freedom from religion? How can an atheist live in peace and treasure his family otherwise?
I regard “freedom of religion” to be a political issue. You can force religion upon people but you cannot force faith on them. Guess, we all agree here, that without faith religion is meaningless.

I’d be happy if the state and religion were strictly separated (they are surely not over here in Germany, the big churches have a huge influence on everydays politics), but that’s not so important to me, as long as the churches don’t start to oppress and burn people again who do not comply.

It is quite entertaining to read some of the comments, how some people here see atheists. Reminds me a lot of all the prejudices protestant fundis have towards Catholics. They have no basis in real life, people are not willing to listen to each other, lest try to understand the other side.
I suggest some of you should contemplate that similarity for a minute or two.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I harbor no ill feelings or prejudices toward Atheists. I do feel very sorry for you though because I can’t imagine what it would be like to not be certain, without a shadow of a doubt that my heavenly Father loves me so much. People let me down - but my Heavenly Father is 100% faithful and trustworthy and loving all of the time. I can go to him at any time, day or night and He is there to listen and to comfort me. I know I’m not in this alone - I have Him to guide me and help me through whatever may come my way. I just can’t imagine how empty your life must be without that. Oh and I suppose you’ll say your life isn’t empty - you have family, friends, yourself even - who needs God, right? In the depths of your soul you MUST know that isn’t true. You must have heard, at one time God calling out to you. Why did you say no? Only you can answer that but know this: God is still there. He’ll wait your whole life for you to turn to Him and He’ll accept you with His open loving arms.

Freedom from religion…??? why what does that have to do with this topic ?

I’m not atheist, but most folks are guided by some principles and morals even if they do not acknowlege God.

As a reminder, the topic is “what’s the most important thing in (an atheist’s) life?” Do you not see the relevance of freedom from religion?

My children are without question the most important thing!

What “oppression” are you talking about, exactly?

I cant see feeling discriminatory things twords atheists. I mean how can you discriminate against nothing? I think people generaly view atheists as a non issue. Atheist never actualy bother anyone that I’m aware of. They dont knock on my front door like the JW’s and ask me to convert to nothingness. I havent heard an atheist make a case for atheism because there is nothing to talk about.

Yes, I know atheist means frredom from relision…

The previous poster said “will some one mention Freedom from Religion”… and left it at that, they did not ask how they wanted that mentioned or what they wanted to mention about it.

But I see AnAtheist already addressed the issue.
