To how many uses can I put a pyx?

Is it legitimate to use the same pyx for transporting the consecrated hosts on Sunday and for ashes on Ash Wednesday?
 
A general rule of thumb is that a liturgical vessel that has been used as a container for the Blessed Sacrament isn’t used for anything else. If an EMHC needs a pyx to carry blessed ashes, he should buy a second one to be used only for that purpose.
