I was married when I was a Marine, during a time of war, and at the county building. I am not sure if the marriage was blessed byt he church, I trusted that my wife had gone through the proper steps, having been raised in a parochial school. I did not re-enlist as to pursue a career as an officer, because I believed that she deserved more. Trusting her to take over some of the financial responsibility, I became a student. While I was attending school I was not providing for her as I would had liked, but we knew that it was only until I received my BA. Then I would had gone to officer candidate school and our life would be back on course. My wife left me, remarried, and outside the church, again. I was hit very hard by her leaving. My entire life plan not only included her but revolved around her. Due to the unbreakable bond that I thought I was a part of and how much I trusted my wife(as I trust God). Looking back I no longer believe that she took those steps, I pray for her to reconcile with the church, but do not know that I should try to have anything else to do with her. I do not want to interfere with what she is putting herself through(second marriage?) if our marriage was not valid. I love her. I do not want to see anyone turn from their faith, but am not sure what, if any, good I can do for her any longer. I will not even date until I am sure that the marriage has no chance of validity. Do I contact her, the new guy her parents, or do I stay out of it. She is unreachable. and hates me something I have never seen from a Catholic person before.
